Don’t really know the validity of this, but if it takes until September to spend the 1.3 billion, then nothing slows down. And, it keeps the issue alive for us.

On AM Joe this morning they were discussing Trump has had three opportunities to take money and this one is the lowest. He had better proposals and let them slip through his fingers.

Decepticon McConnell Caucus Presents Donald Trump the Take-It or Leave-It Border Compromise Deal….

Posted on  by

The usual suspects within the Decepticon Caucus (McConnell, Cornyn, Thune, Barasso, Crapo, Portman, Blunt, Gardner, Burr, Romney) and Richard Shelby held a press conference to announce the outcome of their DHS border security funding negotiations.

There are massive numbers of Republicans who view Senate Majority Mitch McConnell as a brilliant strategist and staunch supporter of President Trump.  Unfortunately, those voices once again have to reconcile McConnell’s comprehensive failure on a Trump priority.   Yes, McConnell and Shelby successfully negotiated for less border security funding than before the shutdown.

WATCH: Republican Senators Discuss Border Wall Security Funding Deal

Fortunately, POTUS Trump planned for the intentional failure of McConnell and his veto-proof construct. [Rest assured, thankfully, President Trump knows exactly who McConnell is.] President Trump had anticipated the result and dispatched Mulvaney to review the granular DHS, DoD and DoS programs throughout fiscal year 2019 appropriations to assemble secondary funding.

Despite McConnell’s opposition; which is directly related to his CoC owner-interest in porous borders; the border security fencing/wall will be built.

After all this, we get 55 miles of wall ??? NO !!!

Cool your Jets, Jay. Trump has a plan, he always does.

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/429709-trump-touts-deal-as-providing-23-billion-for-border-security

President Trump on Tuesday appeared to express openness to a border security deal reached by a bipartisan group of lawmakers, suggesting that its funds could be combined with others to build his desired wall along the southern border.

"Looking over all aspects knowing that this will be hooked up with lots of money from other sources," Trump tweeted. "Will be getting almost $23 BILLION for Border Security. Regardless of Wall money, it is being built as we speak!"

Let President Trump take care if it.

Amen, Bert. A voice of sanity.

Like him or not, Mitch knows the lay of the land. This is as good as the President is going to get AND Mitch knows the President has access to the resources he needs to make up the shortfall (for the most part).

He--Mitch--is saying, for political and other reasons, let's put this baby to bed.

‘Just because it hits his desk, Trump can always veto.
Why does Mitch have to fall on his sword”

You’re joking right? Mitch fall on his sword...as if. Trump is not going to veto. It’s a another crap sandwich and Roberts is standing behind Trump’s back with a knife. Unless RBG exits we are getting crumbs I fear. If things stay as they are 3-4 more years we will never win another national election.

Nonsense, with both houses the Repukes could only give him 1.6 billion so now he gets 1.4 and admission from the Rats that the wall is legitimate. Moreover, he’s got 2 months of rhetoric on how important it is. They could have done better but it’s an easy spin in my opinion. As long as Trump will use additional money to handle this.

Trump is winning this war right now and it is as plain as day. He is playing Congress just like he is playing China -- he knows he holds all the high cards. China is actually coming to grips with this reality. I don't think the Democrats have realized it yet. Not sure they ever will.

He has the money for the wall from other sources. He's probably known this since the Fall or early Winter. His legal & financial team has been working on this I'm sure for months.

If he got NO money for the wall, it would not look nearly as good. Getting some money for a wall from Congress cedes the argument for a wall to Trump. The rest of the money will be merely a matter of degree along a financial continuum about a solution for the wall that all sides have finally agreed upon.

Winning.

Trump is the master at this game. It's a privilege to be alive to witness it in real time.

Wrote something in post #53 that is similar to what you are saying. It's validating that others are seeing the bigger picture how I am.

The key points: That's worth much, much more than $200 million (delta between $1.6B and $1.4B).
