While I don’t doubt that the vatican needs a good cleaning of wayward priests I am leery of a gay author claiming that those who speak out about homosexuality are the ones most riven with it. It leaves only the options of ‘ok with it’ or ‘hypocrites.’

If they aren’t having sex or if they have sworn off it for the desire to pursue Christ or just out of obedience to Scripture, should they count as “gay”? I don’t believe so. Therefore, I don’t trust the numbers.
I do believe a higher number of Catholic Clergy are gay, up to an including Pope Francis, but I don’t want to smear all of them just as all of them are not pedophiles (which is worse). The problem is pride and the unwillingness to confess the sin in their lives and repent from it.
