Colin Kaepernick wanted $20M to play in AAF: report

A person with knowledge of the conversation tells The Associated Press that the new Alliance of American Football spoke with Colin Kaepernick during its development about joining the league.

But Kaepernick wanted $20 million or more to consider playing with the league that had its debut last weekend.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Thursday because neither side has publicly acknowledged such talks.

The Alliance says its mission is to provide opportunities for players not in the NFL to continue their careers, with a possibility they could entice NFL teams to sign them once the AAF season concludes at the end of April. The league also approached Tim Tebow, who said he wanted to continue pursuing his baseball career. Tebow currently is in the New York Mets' spring training camp.

Thus Colon Kraperdink is once again revealed to be a phony and a hypocrite. All he wants is a chance to play? Well here he was offered one, but he demanded the equivalent of 1/2 the payroll budget for the ENTIRE LEAGUE! (AAF players earn a $250K base salary and can earn incentive bonuses).

Personally I am hoping at this point he DOES get to play again, so that he can get his clock cleaned and throw 15 interceptions. If he doesn't the revisionist historians will make him out to be Tom Brady, Joe Montana and Johnny Unitas all rolled into one, and he would have won a dozen Super Bowls had he not been oppressed by The Man.

Oh my, shades of Joe Namath and all the money that the AFL paid him in about 1964 to get him to be their marquee player.
Anyone here remember that?

He sure thinks a lot of himself.

If it was ‘for the love of the game’ he’d do it for much less.................

Who is this Colon Kraperdink?

Almost nobody’s gonna pay that jerk to drive away their customers. His insulting antics have cost his former league countless customers and tens of millions of dollars already

IIRC it was....gasp....$400k.

And he was worth every cent.

The guy is a minor footnote in football history, we should pay him no attention.

The AAF is over if they take Kaepernik and/or like minded elitist pampered jerks into its ranks.

They’re not making $250k per year. They’re making $250k for 3 years. Every player in the league is on the same contract.

They also asked Tebow to play and he turned them down as well.

2 and 14

That's what Colon has to offer a future head coach.

I suspect that the new football league would not allow Kaep to take a knee.

Supposedly their were NFL teams willing to sign him if he would agree to stop doing it. He refused.

According to Forbes, Tom Brady’s salary was $15M with bonus targets worth another $5M. Colin Krapernicky isn’t Tom Brady and never will be.

Superbowl WINNER vs. kneeling LOSER.

Warren Moon had three times the talent and accepted Canadian Football League money because he wanted to play football.

Has anyone told him he SUCKS as a QB?

Even in the CFL it will take opposition defenses about 10 minutes to read him and pick him off/lay him out.

One NFL coach said it best about how badly he telegraphs: follow the stripes.
