There was no Polish government in place at that time.
There was no “Vichy Poland”. These were acts of individuals, the Polish government has no responsibility for what happened.
Now, if you want to talk about 1968, and the shameful expulsion of Jews from Poland by the Communists, that’s another story.
There was a Polish Govt in Exile. Jan Karski was one of their representatives, another “Righteous Gentile”. You are correct that they were “not in place” and didn’t have much power in Poland, but they could have said something as a policy. The Pope also could have done it too.
