All it takes is a look at the U.S. Congress to see how seriously fractured our nation is.
Bernie Sanders no longer has the dubious pleasure of being the only openly socialist member as he has been joined by, most notably and loudly – thanks to the media – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has kicked socialism up several notches to resemble what took Venezuela down the drain in a few short years.
The acceptance of socialism, mostly by the younger voters, can be blamed to a big degree on their education, especially at the college level, where pseudo-revolutionists from the flower child generation teach the nobility of socialism, making it sound like a place of social nirvana where everybody shares and shares alike, where people are rewarded according to not their production but simply by virtue of being born.
Shortly after the fall of the iron curtain, American businesses rushed into the Eastern Bloc countries to reap the benefits of the fledgling democracies. McDonald’s had set up shop in those days, and the people scrambled to get the jobs they offered at better wages than they had ever seen.
Then the problems began because the workers they hired came in, worked a short while and tried to spend the rest of the day just sitting around reading the newspaper or whatever – work be damned.
The truth of the matter is that they simply didn’t know any better, the work ethic had been so thoroughly burned out of them by the socialistic theory that no matter how hard you work, you’ll never advance and you won’t make any more money, so going to work, to them, meant sluffing off all day.
Reportedly, there was also a high rate of employee turnover.
The apologists leave out the parts about how for socialism to exist, there eventually has to be a totalitarian government to enforce it, after the few who dare to excel start looking at the slugs and wondering why they deserve the same pay and benefits as one who brings something to the job and actually produces for their pay.
These people have to be kept quiet, lest they upset the apple cart and start a movement that could turn political and topple the elite who sit at the top of the pyramid and live like royalty.
To start with, a little harassment and public scorn is enough, but after a while, it eventually takes a midnight knock on the door and a person never being heard from again. And a little bit of this goes a long way in toning down the dissenters.
When governments start nationalizing private businesses the bureaucracies explode, and since they have to justify their existence, they begin levying regulations that tie the hands of commerce and make it next to impossible to show a profit.
And this doesn’t bother government at all, since they have a never-ending source of income. And when they need more money, they simply raise taxes or print it.
Eventually, both their sources are pushed to the bursting point when taxes can’t possibly be raised anymore, and as a result of printing money, hyperinflation sets in. Then it takes a dump truck full of cash to buy the week’s groceries and no nation is willing to lend more money. And then the panic begins.
There is no food on the shelves; gasoline is totally unaffordable, even if you can find it; and then factories and manufacturing shuts down. The government is stone broke; the dole is discontinued; the power struggles begin, which means that even the meager amount of currency that can be had goes for guns, not butter; and the people resort to whatever they have to just to eat – up to and including slaughtering the animals at the zoo.
Everywhere socialism has been tried, it has miserably failed, reducing the quality of life, destroying governments and leaving economies in shreds.
Yet there is always a new gaggle of fools who think they can make it work, or at least that’s what they tell the electorate, always masking their real intentions of having suffocating and perpetual power over a nation.
America sits on the edge of the precipice. Will we pull back or go over the side?

I don’t see most of them backing off like the hippies did.
I think once enough of us pass on the country is in real trouble.
We have about 50% of wage-earners and voters who pay no income tax. Approx. 2/3 of Fed.gov’s entire budge is spend on 4 entitlement programs.
America has $22 Trillion in debt and rising fast.
And we have a completely printed, centrally-controlled Federal Reserve currency to pay for it all
Democrats, Republicans and Socialists all seem to believe government can spend our way to prosperity.
Yes, socialism will push us over the side.
I agree, with the exception of the hippies who became Profs.
They and the Marxist profs gradually changed the majority of higher learning into the leftist mess that it is.
Yup. By being alive from WWII through now, I feel very fortunate to have lived through America’s best. Sorry, grand kids. Oh, and here’s what you owe.

Totally agree. The Left run public and many private schools will win the long term battle.
Lately, I have been extremely pessimistic for very good reason. I think this administration was sunk before the oath was taken by the President. No swamp was ever drained,the wall is fantasy and MAGA brand has been associated with the worst aspects of humanity by the left. I think the Socialist fetish will draw the numbers needed to defeat President Trump. These SOB’s will take power and it will get very real. They will just “national emergency” the Constitution and Conservatives with a boot on the neck and gun to the head the way of the Soviets and Nazis did in the past.
I mean, these kids honestly believe that we need to pass something like the Green New Deal within twelve years or they’re all gonna die. I mean, they really BELIEVE it!
I’m not sure how you can fight something like that.
I have always maintained that once the Democrats got over fiscal criticism (which is pretty much worthless now given the way Republicans have continued to spend money) that they would be in an ideal position to go full-on Santa Claus and buy ONE election when they really need it.
I’m afraid that election is coming. In 2024 if not this one.

Some backed off. Some started the yuppies to make as much money selfishly as they could.
But everywhere I go I must first assume the worthless gray ponytailed bearded codger next to me or the ugly gray haired hag in front is a leftover hippie, still fighting for socialism today and legal drugs and to destroy America for the sin of global warming (climate change) and white supremacy.
The older women blame all their woes on men and get revenge whenever they can. The males have “Turn off Fox News” and “Resist Trump” on their car bumpers. The leftover hippies never grew up mentally.

Sadly I fully agree with you. If the vote fraud and illegals voting (a Wall being built and a photo voter ID for ALL to secure a one person one vote legal election) then the factors that took over AZ,NM,FL and TX to make them 50-50 states instead of GOP strongholds will sink us forever.
No one is even trying to get the voter ID and the end of illegals voting.
They say “some states allow driver’s license voting” and “some states are letting felons have their vote again.” And you cannot ask the question “are you a US citizen” to a prospective voter????
Whose country is this? Don’t answer, it’s rhetorical.
