Baffled me that they would even want to build a large business complex in NYC, when the cost of land acquisition, permits, union-only construction costs, kickbacks, utilities, etc are multiple times what they would be elsewhere in the country.

If all the money in the country was evenly divided within two generations it would all be back just the way it is. Most people only know how to spend money.

I say, there is plenty of money in this world, plenty of money in this country. But it's in the wrong hands, He's right. Just to name a few:
- George Soros
- Jeff Bezos
- Michael Bloomberg
- Senator Dianne Feinstein and hubby
- Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and hubby
- The Kennedy Family
- Oprah Winfrey
And the list goes on and on and on and on...

1935 movie “Make a Million” Econ prof says “The only thing wrong with money in the country today is the wrong people have it. Fortunes are being amassed by ninconpoop millionares who have attempted to set up an aristocracy of wealth instead of by achevement” Sound familiar?

Unfair and arbitrary to Wilhelms working people. NY isnt the only place that has working people. If I was Amazon I would go inefficient and put people to work in 10 different places to spite Wilhelm, and Cuomo. I've been following the issue in the Puget Sound Business Journal. When Seattle announced the tax on jobs, Amazon announced they would not occupy a building to which they had committed; they would sublease the space.
When Amazon announced NYC was a no go, they took pains to emphasize there was no change in their employment plans in Seattle...no additional jobs.
Amazon has been shopping for office space/buildings on the Eastside (across Lake Washington from Seattle) specifically Bellevue. They have committed to or have inquired about space sufficient to house...25,000 workers. Bellevue has a very friendly and supportive business climate and city government.
Quite the coincidence.

Have we EVER seen proponents of such ideas act as altruistically as they advocate everyone else do?
