Steele lost his bid for the RNC chairmanship in 2011 after serving for 2 years. Immediately following his loss in the chairmanship election, and during the Obama years, Steele was hired by MSNBC to be a regular political analyst as of May 2011.

He is a staunch supporter of pro-choice and threatened a need for violence when questioned about this from Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council in 2009.

In 2008, Steele said that he personally opposes a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, saying that he believes states should decide the issue for themselves. Head in the sand as in 2012, Steele said that LGBT couples deserve full privileges and benefits under the law.

In 2009, speaking on illegal immigration, Steel called for the U.S. to “secure our borders first,” saying “You cannot begin to address the concerns of the people who are already here unless and until you have made certain that no more are coming in behind them.” Carl Rove called this boneheaded as those already here are supporting the new trespassers and they are causing crime, harming people, and costing the taxpayers millions of dollars. I have to agree with Carl Rove on that one.

In 2010, he said the war in Afghanistan was “not something the United States had actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in.”In fact, War in Afghanistan was initiated by George W. Bush in October 2001 in retaliation for the September 11 attacks on New York City and Washington D.C. He obviously has no conception of how a war is fought as he was a supporter of Bush’s invasion of Iraq when a lot of the Taliban and Al Qaeda forces were operating from Afghanistan.

I can’t call him a conservative as he has never supported most of the people or ideologies of the party. So my question is, how did he get the chairmanship of the RNC in 2009 when he hasn’t, and doesn’t currently, represent the party? He’s just a member of the herd when it comes to Rinos.

So my question is, how did he get the chairmanship of the RNC

He’s black and the GOP wanted a black face on the RNC.
