Well if you said none, you are right. It takes 360,000,000 tons of melted ice to raise the sea level 1 mm.

Yeah, and all that ice has to come from the land, because all the ice currently in the water will have no effect whatsoever if it melts.

If only she was around to warn the people of Atlantis.

It’s amazing to me people’s ignorance of the Earth’s history. Whether the Zanclean flood happened over 2 years or 1000 years is immaterial... most researchers agree that the Mediterranean sea was once much smaller, and washed away a lot of land mass long before any recorded human civilization.

Land masses move on plates. Islands appear out of “nowhere” (volcanic eruptions) and likewise sink for the same reasons. The earth’s land may have once been united in a Pangea, but not anymore, but maybe again in the future. To blame it all on the industrial age is pure hubris. For politicians it is pure demagoguery.

I don’t care now, and in a few more years I won’t care at all.

According to Wikiepdia the elevation of Portsmouth is 20 ft (6 m).

According to an article from Live Science:

"The 2 meters by 2100 is cited a lot, but if you ask scientists what they think of that number, they say it is probably a little high, maybe 1.5 meters [4.9 feet] is more like an upper bound," Willis said.

“Hey, half my family smoked pot, yuk, yuk!”

These idiots have gone from “Trump is exploding the deficit with his tax cuts for the rich” to “cost doesn’t matter” overnight.

Amazing nerve these people have.

It’s funny because you can win a debate on this topic in under an hour. Just fill a glass with ice and water and wait. When the ice melts does the glass overflow?

Some coastal areas are sinking, not being subsumed by rising waters. Climate change has nothing to do with either. The ocans have been rising at a progressively slower rate since the last of the continental glaciers broke up and melted.

If you look at the rates and the tables in terms of the decline, because we are talking about decline, within a relatively short period of time, it will be underwater. This is a real issue,” Harris said.

Is this something I need to be concerned about before dinner?

So now Kamala-la-la-ding-dong is an expert climatologist? And an oracle!

No, there was an exemption in the Magna Carta. Or something. Maybe Gandalf prevents it.

Or King Canute/Cnut?

All around the globe there have been seablevel comparisons from photographic records in the late 1800’s until now that show ZERO 0 NONE NIL NADA rise in oceanic levels. Has the been erosion due to tide, wind and storms? Youbetcha. Everytime the idiots bring this nonsense up it should be shoved down their throats.

For perspective...

“The ocean accounts for 0.022 percent of the total weight of earth, weighing an estimated 1,450,000,000,000,000,000 short tons (1 short ton = 2,000lbs).”

“If you look at the rates and the tables in terms of the decline, because we are talking about decline, within a relatively short period of time, anyone still listening me will be neckdeep in political manure. This is a real issue,” warned Kamala “Batcrap Crazy” Harris.
