House Democrats on March 12 will reintroduce the Dream Act with new language providing protections for Temporary Protected Status and Deferred Enforced Departure recipients.
California Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard will reintroduce the measure - which provides permanent legal protections and a path to citizenship for so-called Dreamers, undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children - as the Dream and Promise Act of 2019, according to her office.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reserved the bill number HR 6 for the legislation, which has long been a top priority of House Democrats.
Millions of Dreamers would benefit from the legislation, including the roughly 800,000 who have had legal protections under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. President Donald Trump has tried to end DACA, but federal courts have blocked him from doing so.
Trump tried to terminate TPS for individuals from Sudan, Nicaragua, Haiti and El Salvador, but a federal court ruling has blocked him from doing so. DED protections for individuals from Liberia are scheduled to expire March 31.
“TPS and DED protections are included because President Trump’s cruel and reckless actions have increased the urgency to address these issues and protect these individuals in our communities,” Roybal-Allard’s office said.

Most of these “pie in the sky” things they’re passing are for their own entertainment, and saber rattling, just to thrill the media.
With the public owning millions of firearms, do they really think we’ll all roll over and give them up? Especially after witnessing places like, Venezuela, Australia, and other countries who did, and having rising socialist, criminal, and dictator problems.
As long as we adhere to the Constitution, and maintain our arms, they can’t put us into cattle cars...not easily, anyway.

Doesn’t this set up essentially two classes of citizens? Legals (who pay taxes, are documented and go to jail for crimes) and a protected illegal class?

Nobody has stood up in force to the Democrats ever. Why would they not think they can fool right over us? It’s becoming quite a habit by now.

The Constitution is just an impediment to Democrats. I mean, when RBG made her comments that she considers foreign statutes when making her SC decisions, it was just illustrative that they do not feel they need to uphold and protect the Constitution.

Which is why between now and the next election, Trump needs to do everything possible to stop vote fraud. Further, I think all of us who can possibly find the time should get involved in oversight of our local election process.
That's what they were elected to. They also own the infiltrators who run for office as Republicans, than sabotage us. Add to that, the only reason they have a majority in the House is that Traitor Paul Ryan threw the election, rather than cede power to true conservatives.
You’re probably quite right, I was using “we” collectively as in “Americans”.
But then again, we haven’t been forced to board rickety ships, set out for an unknown journey, to and unknown wilderness, and try to survive.
If we get pushed to the depths of say, Venezuela, I don’t think we would roll over take it too long, so long as we still have our guns.
The FIRST thing most socialist/communist/dictators do is confiscate guns, after that, they can do whatever the hell they want...we can’t let that point happen in America.
