There is a balance here.

• What's the risk to the general public if the vaccine isn't given.
• What's the risk of getting the vaccine.
• Are there components of the vaccine that are problematic (mercury, dna, etc)
• There have always been some medical exceptions. Allergic to components, etc.
• Too many exceptions and you risk epidemics.

Rand Paul is right. Vaccinations are not Balm of Gilead, and they can be positively harmful if and when circumstances are right. I personally think some facet of vaccination is responsible for the explosion in autoimmune illness that's been seen in the past four decades or so. And there's the massive anecdotal evidence of people who get sick with some infectious illness after receiving a vaccination, which tells me that, under the right circumstances, it could lead to such things as small, developing tumors getting a toehold in the system, where otherwise they might be summary disposed of.

But the big thing is that no one has a right to force somebody to put something into his body that he doesn't want there. Nothing to do with medicine, and everything to do with human freedom.

I agree as long as they isolate themselves and pay for special insurance to cover themselves when they get sick. It’s like the guys that won’t wear helmets when they ride motorcycles. Hey as long as you sign a promise to sit at home and change your own diapers when the head injury you could get makes you a basket case I’m with you but I don’t want to pay more for my health insurance to cover you when your injury could have been avoided with a little common sense.

That’s a tad loopy... There’s this disease called ‘smallpox’... And guess what? It isn’t a disease anymore and is non-existent. The reason why? It’s a thing called vaccination and if you do enough of them you can actually wipe out a disease when it runs out of host to infect, and that’s what happened to smallpox.

Smallpox formerly killed millions of humans every year... Now it doesn’t even exist due to forced vaccination programs.

Well, I agree with him on that. But I’m sure we would disagree on the next step. Anyone refusing vaccination should be removed to a quarantine camp in the Southwestern desert. Utah, Arizona? And kept there until they are vaccinated.

Have we all forgotten what freedom is? Free market?

Vaccines that are safe, have a high effective rate, and a low to non existent mortality rate will probably do well. Most will choose to take it if the risk/reward is high enough. But with something like vaccinations for chicken pox? Do the risk/reward calculation.....no exactly a great answer is it? (especially knowing most of us had chicken pox as kids, and are alive and well, therefore risk is high, and reward is almost zero)

Government mandating almost anything tears at freedoms base. Couple this with the fact that the creators of the vaccine cannot be held accountable for what their product does to our children, and you have a recipe for disaster.

For instance, where is the incentive to make a safe product? Why not just throw together a cocktail of cheap items and pay off a gov’t official to get it on the mandatory list. Great profit table there.

And is it not crazy that if McDonalds spills coffee on me in the drive thru they are liable, but pharm scrambling a young childs brain has no liability? You simply cannot have forced vaccinations with no accountability.

The best answer, is to keep freedom in tact, make pharm responsible for the outcome of their products, and the cream will rise to the top. Simple, and has worked for the span of our great country. Why we insist on controlling others lives is beyond me, especially at the cost of something as great as freedom.
