Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday that he does not think the government should require people to receive vaccinations, amid a heated debate over the growing influence of anti-vaccine groups and as Washington state experiences its worst measles outbreak in more than two decades.
Paul (R-Ky.) made similar comments ahead of his unsuccessful White House bid in 2016. On Tuesday, he was the sole lawmaker at a hearing of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee to question whether the benefits of vaccinations outweigh the risks for the general population.

And he is a medical doctor too.
Thank you, Senator Paul.
And when a public school says you can’t attend?
I completely agree
the vaccine industry is pure evil cloaked with good intentions
They make money on you injecting poison into your bloodstream
That is all you were doing
nothing more
injecting poison into your bloodstream
Im not saying that the vaccine theory is not valid i.e. polio
Im saying the current vaccine industry is pure evil and only profit motivated
Youll notice for example that its only Democrats pushing this
there are no Republicans pushing you to poison your baby
theyre also pushing you to murder your baby noticed that?
I would have to do SO MUCH more reading on the subject that I have to fully understand the issue.
I’ve read that damning evidence against vaccines have been covered up. Then I read that they weren’t damning.
Some say the Constitution doesn’t forbid forced vaccinations, some say it does.
Where’s my bottle of Jack?
Sounds like he missed the Public Health module in school.
Finally something that Senator Paul and I agree on.
You may be correct of a few things, but vaccinations in These United States have given us decades free from pandemics that used to ravage the population. It is only because we are allowing unvaccinated 3rd worlders into our country that some are making a come back.
Consistent with principles of medical freedom, informed consent, limited government. Good for Rand. I did not expect any different.
Nothing is perfect but the facts don’t back up your assertions. Where is Polio?
Skipping vaccinations endangers your neighbors and community.
If you don’t want vaccinations then go to some 3rd world nation to live.
Understand all of that theyre telling your doctor to always ask you to do vaccines cause they make three or four times as much money on that visit
if there is no vaccines way less money and reimbursement
its pure and simple as that thats why the entire industry is down on it because it creates much more revenue
Trust the FDA who brings generic drugs to all of us from third-world countries? Add vaccines to that list.
“Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday that he does not think the government should require people to receive vaccinations”
I agree with Runt Paul on that, nobody should be forced to get vaccinations....in less they want to go to school, get employment, or remain in the country.
——waay back when I was a kid, (1940’s) you weren’t “forced” either (in general, the Jehovah’s Witnesses didn’t get shots) but virtually all parents who had lived through the times when whooping cough, etc., still killed kids wouldn’t have let children go unvaccinated for any reason—
—IMHO, mass vaccination is one of the only government programs that really worked as it was supposed to—nearly eliminated childhood death from some of the common communicable diseases—
He is a Libertarian above all else. They believe that people have the right to do anything they want whether it is good for them or not. Libertarians favor legalizing drug use for example. They believe in not engaging in any foreign activity, especially use of military force.
The bottom line is rand Paul is your typical libertarian nut. Just like dad.
So I wouldnt be so enamored that he supports the no vaccine idiots. He doesnt care what happens to you or your kids or the community at large.
