A “voice vote” would not have any recorded “no votes” as a vote is not taken. It simply means that it wasn’t deemed close enough or at least in doubt enough to call for a formal vote so you have no idea how many “No’s” there were or were not.
Richard Thornburgh prior to Barr was confirmed unanimously and was NOT uncommon at the time. Maybe you had a problem with Reagan’s pick as well?
Edwin Meese (super hard ass) 69-31 seriously, you’re trying to make your point with that?
2018: Barr was reported to the Senate on a 1210, party-line vote. Barr was confirmed as the next Attorney General by a 5445 near party-line vote. An extremely close vote by historical standards.
With Congress failing to defeat President Trumps emergency boarded deleration and Atorney General saying its lawful I don’t see how the courts have any standing especially it being an emergency you would think it could not be tyed up in the courts but we all know when it comes to our great President anything and Everthing will be thrown at him the law be damed...
Splodey heads all over the country! THANK you, Mr. AG!
Getting pending appointments need to be highest priority, skip vacations to get it done!
Your glass is always half empty, isn’t it?
Clearly is. We-The-People demand it.
Well, we might have finally found our guy.
I was unsure about Barr, as a former Bush admin guy, but so far he’s been solid.
I don’t know for sure but I think there is a way to send the S.C. the case right away and not have to fight thru the lower courts.
Every 5th grader in America knows this is part of the president’s constitutional powres. Why don’t Democrats and the Media?
Ditto dat !
Cool, fun with numbers.
In January 1984, more Democrats voted for Edward Meese as AG than voted for William Barr in December of 2018.
Ann Coulter, sit down and STFU!
We love your books, Ann. Isn’t that enough?
Do you have to continually share your mood swings with us?
Up until two years ago that would have made sense.
Now? In the Looking Glass world of 2019? Who knows?!
>>>Finally, an AG that supports the president<<<
Nope, an Attorney General who supports THE LAW.
So far anyway...
It’s a “Fake Emergency?” to SanFranNan? Yeah...tear down her walls, take away her and all of Congress’s Security, then maybe we can talk.
Barr may have been a better choice than we thought.
These Senate wankers gave their congressional authority away. There is nothing unconstitutional about what the President is doing. Instead of voting against this, Mike Lee and company should push a bill through the legislature rescinding this power or revamping the Emergency Powers Act. Of course it would not be retroactive.
