I learned from a live report from Syria on Fox that there was an elaborate network of tunnels. The ISIS were in the tunnels when the artillery strikes hit. No need to bury the dead.

The artillery strikes may have hit areas where there are a network of tunnels. Typical ISIS tactics. Artillery trumps tunnels. ISIS dead.

Women were spotted with weapons among the ISIS fighters. They had children too. You think you’re safe if they are women. Nope! Typical ISIS tactics. They sacrifice the children.

The poor resolution may be due to a satellite that is not as good as the one serving the US.

Their tunnels in the town of Baghouz basically were from one house to the next, but out in the open field camp for the last few nights, they basically had only foxholes and trenches.

The freakin Kurds have been playing hide and seek with these terrorists for far too long...the goal is to kill the enemy not provide them a hot meal and safe passage.

Instead of “seizing” the camp, how about incinerating it? I mean like no dental records, no DNA, no fiber evidence, no trace of any biological activity. Record it and stick it up on You Tube.

We should give the prisoners to the Kurds and let them deal with them.

There is an ancient reason for Kurds to celebrate today:

Syrian time is 8 hours ahead of CT in the USA. Today is Newroz for them. (New Year Celebration with extra meaning)

Kurds celebrate Newroz, light fire as symbol of event (in KRG)

http://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/ccc34ed2-b9a0-4785-b964-ec2473e9ff6b/Kurds-celebrate-Newroz—light-fire-as-symbol-of-event

Turkey bans Newroz celebrations for Syrian Kurds in Afrin (in Turkish control)

https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2019/3/17/turkey-bans-kurdish-newroz-celebrations-in-afrin

“The Newroz fire is said to be a symbol of defiance and triumph over evil, and for Kurds, it has become a symbol of freedom against oppression.”

Kurdish Activists Summoned and Threatened on the Eve of Newroz in Kurdistan (in Iran)

http://kurdistanhumanrights.net/en/kurdish-activists-summoned-and-threatened-on-the-eve-of-newroz-in-kurdistan/

(Long story short? Kurds and allies in SDF after defeating ISIS, should scare the crap out of despots in Turkey, Iraq and Iran. Judging from the actions of the Despots, it does. Note, at this point, there is some division about nationalism among Kurds. Note, there was a very recent meeting held by the leaders in Iran, Iraq and Syria. Wonder what they discussed?)

"Roz" = "Rosh" as in "Rosh haShana"?

Sounds like Independence Day like ours, with "fireworks" and all, speeches, etc.

Let us remember and assert our own, not neglecting it to abdicate responsibility to instead merely pursue self-gratification.

Decadence is the enemy of true freedom.

This report from Syria:

“Baghouz is the last ISIS-held village left, the last remnants of what was once a territory the size of Indiana, with 8 million people under ISIS’ rule. Now, they are down to a sliver of land no more than half a square mile. We’re at the closest point.

“We’re told most ISIS fighters, wives and children are underground underneath the tents. They stay hidden, living a subterranean life in caves and tunnels. Because of that, there is no way to know how many remain. It is believed some of the tunnels are miles long — and they may still have supply lines.”

Yes. Agree. We must appreciate our own.

But imagine tradition that dates back into antiquity that revers the blessing of freedom. Assayian culture has had their own brutal times and rulers. The traditions of the overthrow of them is deeply embedded.

Where else do you hear that in the Middle East, except Israel?

And killing a cruel brutal evil King with a hammer by survivors of his treachery? Imagine the burst of love of freedom.

I may be over the top, I’ve read about their history and you never know how true myths of the past are. But I actually have come to know some of the Syrian Kurd people. They are brave freedom lovers. What better ally could we have.

No, I’m not talking about their politics and don’t want to go into that battle. My opinions are personal, but founded over quite a span of time.

Some here say the Kurds are the Medes, other say the followers of Zoroastrianism. Kurds say the Ezidi’s are ancestors to all Kurds. I know Ezidi’s that agree.

No they are not Christian. Yes some Kurds are Muslim (certainly not all especially in N. Syria)

So here we are. For all of my adult life I’ve followed the struggle of people who fought for freedom. My wife called it my obsession. I plead guilty, but it is what I like to do.
