Sen. Bernie Sanderss (I-Vt.) 2020 presidential campaign plans to offset all carbon emissions from travel, it announced Thursday morning.
Bernie Sanders is a champion in the fight for climate justice and, like him, we know we need to address our emissions through action, not just rhetoric, campaign manager Faiz Shakir said in a statement. We are proud to lead the way in the fight against climate change by acting boldly to move our energy system away from fossil fuels and towards sustainable energy sources.
The campaign said it will partner with NativeEnergy, a Vermont-based carbon offsets provider, to invest in renewable energy projects to balance the emissions created by its automobile and air travel. The campaign also pledged to offset event venue and attendee-related emissions.

Carbon offsets are the equivalent of: I drive down the road throwing garbage out of my car and then I buy credits from someone who isnt throwing garbage out of their car.
What a JOKE.
Will he use horse and buggy on the campaign trail?

Bernie must have one brain cell left
He is too important to not burn fossil fuels more than a hundred pions.
It’s where elitists like himself by offsets from dirt farmers who cannot afford heat or transportation.
Go away Bernie, seriously. You tedious old bat.
What’s he gonna’ do? Put a cork in his a$$?
Money laundering in the 21st Century.
He needs to buy indulgences for those mansions and his private jet travel.
“How does he heat his three mansions? “
I’m guessing he’ll try to heat them with carbon offsets, though i’m not too clear on just exactly how many BTUs carbon offsets contain ...
“can he use campaign funds to do it ?”
i don’t see why not ... though “offsetting all the carbon consumed by his campaign as well as event venue and attendee-related emissions could consume an awful lot of his campaign funds ... will be interesting to see if he quietly tries to back down on this when funds run low ...
AKA
Soooo , cajole companies to buy carbon credits from Al Gore’s company and he pays Bernie a percentage?
