“Carbon offsets” are the equivalent of: I drive down the road throwing garbage out of my car and then I buy “credits” from someone who isn’t throwing garbage out of their car.

i don’t see why not ... though “offsetting all the carbon consumed by his campaign as well as event venue and attendee-related emissions could consume an awful lot of his campaign funds ... will be interesting to see if he quietly tries to back down on this when funds run low ...
