Until fairly recently one of the things near the top of my “Bucket List” was to rent a Bimmer or Benz and do 120mph on the Autobahn. But the adult side of me has recently overruled the 17 year old in me.

Unnoticeable dot? You should look at a map.

Who gets to decide what 10,000 square mile area gets killed? And yeah, that pesky “storage” problem with a thing called “night”. And the cost. And the raw materials. And the energy to make it. Other than that, it would work fine.

Thank God he left the Hummer at home...…...

IIRC, he owned the very first street-legal Hummer H1. How does he plan to atone for setting that example?

10,000 square miles of solar panels. Currently, they typically cost about $10 per square foot, but let’s be generous and say $5. That’s $1.4 trillion worth of solar panels. One of Obama’s “stimulus” packages could pay for it, but we know it would just end up in the pockets of his terrorist friends.

Well then Arnold needs to go totally electric, no more cars, hummers, or private jets. Then maybe he will some credibility.

I and a friend once had an Opal 3 liter up to 250k on the Autobahn, and got passed by a Porsche. Awesome fun.

Wow - this guy is such a genius, he ought to get into politics..... I remember casting my vote AGAINST him in 2003 and what a pleasure it was. I also remember the arguments put forth by FReepers that he was THE MAN!!! He was so great, my husband and I retired and left the state 3 years later!

A Hummer, a Suburban, and wasn’t Schwarzenegger one of the founders of NetJets, a company that rents private jets to celebrities and other people with deep pockets?

What a damn phony.

Ahnold must have caught a venereal disease that rotted him brain when he banged the fat fugly Mexican maid.

Fossil fuels are the life blood of our country.

Misreported.

He said, “Fossil Fools Will Kill Us.”

He was referring to Pelosi, Bernie, Biden, etc.

How much was Arnold paid to say that? Who paid him? Anybody with 2 healthy brain cells to rub together knows that ‘man-made climate change’ is a bald-faced lie. So, Arnold knows that he is repeating a lie.

The entire US energy usage (ALL forms, not just electricity) can be supplied by an area of solar cells 100 x 100 miles, which is an unnoticeable dot on the land area of the US. The problems are elsewhere (transmission and storage).

1. If the proffered fact is true (100 x 100 mile solar farm,) then 10,000 smaller units of 1 x 1 mile should work as well, spread out all over the country. But, that begs..

2. The sun will not be shining equally over the conterminous U.S., ergo, power will be fluctuating madly. Despite problems of transmission and storage, the expense, initial and subsequent, of infrastructure, repair, degradation and replacement would be substantial.

3. I'll raise you a replacement just as, if not more, practical and offer nuclear power. 150 units spread out over the U.S. would be a smaller footprint, not rely on a shining sun, and seamlessly meld into existing power grids. (The spent/exhausted fuel can be stored in that 100 x 100 mile zone that was "ideal" for solar power.)

;-)
