Twitter considering labeling Trump tweets that violate rules
The Hill ^ | March 28, 2019

A Twitter executive on Wednesday said the company is considering a new feature that will label tweets from politicians, including President Trump, when they violate Twitter rules.

Vijaya Gadde, Twitter's head of legal, policy, and trust and safety, at a Washington Post event on Wednesday said the company might start annotating offensive tweets from public figures with a message about why they remain up.

Twitter has long held that some posts from public figures should remain up because they are "newsworthy," even when they violate Twitter guidelines.

"One of the things we’re working really closely on with our product and engineering folks is, ‘How can we label that?’" Gadde said during the Post event. “How can we put some context around it so people are aware that that content is actually a violation of our rules and it is serving a particular purpose in remaining on the platform?"

Gadde was responding to a question about whether Trump is allowed to say whatever he wants on Twitter. "When we leave that content on the platform there’s no context around that and it just lives on Twitter and people can see it and they just assume that is the type of content or behavior that’s allowed by our rules," Gadde said.

Hannity & Rush stopped tweets a long time ago.

So that means that Twitter will be editorializing and thus something more than just a carrier of messages. Hmmmm, then if they leav up the horrendously hateful tweets without such editorializing, then that means it falls under their unicorn guidelines. and they are okay with that, eh?

So Louis Farrakhan can say what he wants without warning but Trump and other conservatives will get red flags on all their posts.

I would force them to label my Tweets in some way, then Tweet out acid criticism about Twitter to my 30 million followers each and every day.

I would force them to label and ban me, then I would wear that like a Medal of Honor!

I hope Eric & Don Jr are working hard on a new social media platform. It would take off quickly and challenge FB & Twitter.

Almost all social media posts are personal opinions. The ability to express those used to be called free speech.

Is there a good alternative to Twitter?

If so, I wish Trump would get an account and tweet it out. All those following Trump could move to the new platform.

Screw Twitter!

GAB is the closest alternative available. It’s growing.

Label any twitter commentary on the President’s tweets as in-kind contributions to all declared democrat candidates and charge them a large fine x the number of candidates. This would very soon baloon into gigantic money. As it should, this partisan censorship stuff needs to end.

Which means that truth can be censored if someone decides to label it as “offensive”. How politically convenient.

I called them blocking Trump somewhere in the future, a few weeks ago.

This is the first step.

It’s not illegal for a conservative to open a social media site.

Do it.

Or even get moderates with some clout to fund one, like that Theil guy.

Who cares if he’s gay as long as he gets one up and running.

Guy’s got 2.5 billion dollars. Do something useful for the party.

If he did, the popularity of that alternative would skyrocket, and they'd make a lot of money.

The Democrat-MSM would go ballistic, claiming that Trump profited from the growth of the alternative. They would demand multiple full-scale investigations.

If overused, the rating could turn out like ‘R’ ratings for movies; something that may attract a certain type of viewer.
‘G’ ratings are seen as kinda weak and boring, unless just for little kids.

Meanwhile, they continue to enable the systematic defacement by a handful of bad actors, of every Tweet made by Trump.

Read through the replies to Trump’s tweets. Every one has paid political enemies listed as having the top replies - really super obnoxious, disingenuous stuff, too.

IMO what the Krassenstein brothers in particular do constitutes criminal stalking and harassment. Anyone who did to me what those two do to Trump every single day would be found in little pieces.

And since Twitter facilitates it on purpose, Twitter should be criminally liable for their actions as well.

My experience with President Trump’s Tweets:

A few hundred at anti-trump Tweetrs are programmed in by Twitter to appear at the top of the comments. This is a very select group whose selection is programmed into the system.

Some algorithm.

Start blocking these people and you will quickly see what I mean.
