Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez turned an overpriced croissant into a lesson on the minimum wage.
Croissants at LaGuardia are going for SEVEN DOLLARS A PIECE, the New York Democrat tweeted Monday morning. Yet some people think getting a whole hour of personal, dedicated human labor for $15 is too expensive??
She said her point wasnt that the croissant cost too much.
GOP taking every tweet so earnestly, making my point for me. Its not an argument against the price of the croissant its about the value of human worth, she continued. But I guess the idea is foreign to them since their policies treat people as disposable anyway.
When AOC ran for Congress last year, she supported a $15-an-hour minimum wage, as well as a federal jobs guarantee.

[She actually did Amazon a massive favor.]
Wait, like, dude....Couldn’t like, Amazon, get a croissant to the airport customers like the next day with Amazon Prime?
(Somebody get this idea to AOC quickly! Like Next Day!)
And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
If everybody would just Wang Chung tonight, Imagine, Strawberry Fields Forever.
Imagine no possessions. And $800 million dollars in the bank.
She is way too easy and feels wrong.
I don’t think these airports work that way with exclusive rights to sell products written into the lease agreements. And we shouldn’t think of an airport as nothing more than a shopping mall with airplanes flying around it. Think of how costly it is to deliver products to the retail establishments in an airport. It’s not like every storefront has its own loading dock outside where trucks can back up and make deliveries every day. I’ve worked for airport clients with terminals where every truck making a delivery has to go through a perimeter checkpoint and then have a police escort at all times while on the premises.
She knows everything. What an amazing woman.
We should put her in charge of setting all prices for everything in Liberal cities/counties/states in the U.S.
“That some people are worth only 3/5 of a Croissant?”
Just the burnt ones
Wow...77 posts before someone caught that...
If Johnny pays $7 for a croissant and Susie makes $15 an hour (or not), what is the value of human worth?
“The businesses in airports know they have a captive market as you can no longer bring your own food/beverages through security. The businesses in airports know they have a captive market as you can no longer bring your own food/beverages through security. “
The cost of renting that concession space is probably very high. The equation is cost (rent, taxes, insurance, power, pay, regulation compliance, stock shrinkage, waste, etc.) plus profit equals price. My guess is none of those concession stands is a real profit center. The croissant may cost .30 wholesale. The other costs are probably in excess of five dollars per item sold. AOC truly has no clue. She must fit right in with the other congresscritters who never ran a business.
she really is quite the cocoanut
Send her where gas prices are double what they are here. That’ll get her crazy!!
I really think she ought to spend some time living in places where the govt. is very different from what we have.
[If Johnny pays $7 for a croissant and Susie makes $15 an hour]
If Johnny pays $7 for a croissant and Susie makes $15 an hour, when will Global Warming destroy the Earth by 2030 and why should even Leftist Amazon be able to create jobs in New York City?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind between AOC’s ears.
Let’s dance!!
Uh, the reason crossaints are so high is because your demanding a $15.00 an hour wage. An economic genius as yourself should understand this.
Like, we should all, totally, have free croissants! Every day! Cause like that would be justice, right?
Is that Veruca Ocasio Cortez?
Not to mention the required Union Teamster to haul the stuff from the dock to the store.
