Personally I believe he thinks he’s being charming and affectionate, when everyone else just sees it rightly as creepy and perverted.
Joe thinks everyone loves him and respects him like a father figure, or a best pal, or an empathetic leader. They don’t.
But in his mind I think this is what he thinks.
Its like the boss at work putting a hand on someones shoulder when they say good job, or to be friendly and not feel so distant or robotic, but the person takes the shoulder touch as violating their personal space.
The diff is Joe is so full of himself ge cant possibly think anyone would take his actions the wrong way, or that he was touching anyone inappropriately.
