John Huber leaves Congress in dark on FBI probe: 'It's like Where's Waldo?'
Washington Times ^ | April 1, 2019 | Jeff Mordock

Attorney General Jeff Sessions thought he had already answered calls for a special counsel to look into the FBI’s handling of sensitive political investigations when he named a Utah prosecutor to conduct an inquiry and report back.

Nearly 18 months later, there has been nary a public peep from U.S. Attorney John Huber, the man Mr. Sessions assigned to get to the bottom of things.

Likely witnesses say Mr. Huber has never contacted them, and members of Congress say they are still in the dark despite regular pleas to see progress.

“It concerns me that we haven’t heard a darn thing,” Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, told The Washington Times last week. “It’s like ‘Where’s Waldo?’ ‘Where’s Huber?’”

Mr. Huber’s assignment is coming under scrutiny as top Republicans, including President Trump, demand a Justice Department investigation into the way the FBI and Justice Department targeted Mr. Trump’s campaign and his associates in 2016

There are two basic "theories of Huber".

The first is "Huber is a submarine" - he's running silent and deep, and at some point he will surface and fire off his missiles to take down the Deep State denizens.

The second theory is that "Huber is a potted plant". He's there to decorate the place, to improve the visuals around Deep State antics.

Many of the people who believe in the Huber is a submarine theory also "trust Sessions", and believe Huber is only a part of a hidden process that will be revealed at some point in the future.

It will be interesting to see when DoJ Inspector General Horowitz issues his next report, which has FISA process abuse as one of its targets, if Huber then, finally, appears with indictments for the people that OG Horowitz has been investigating. Or not.

While initially open-minded on this I have come down on the side of Session, while a decent guy, was utterly useless as A.G. and Huber, while an excellent USA for Utah, has never been engaged in the way many think or hope he has, possibly because Sessions directions to him didn't empower him to do so.

The time for Huber to prove he is not a potted plant is running out. Certainly with the Mueller report filed, and the OIG report expected shortly we are quickly running out of time for him to prove the "submarine" crowd correct.

Huber was Sessions, “Look, a squirrel”.
He has done nothing.

It’s hard to imagine a submarine so deep that it can’t be seen through even asking anyone any questions.

Huber and Magoo are busy painting jail cells at Guantánamo in anticipation of opening up the 3,987,450,221 sealed indictments generated by the White hats at the DOJ.

It takes a lot of time to fabricate excuses to cover up the Deep State’s corruption. Huber and Horowitz are dedicated to their respective tasks. /sarc

Huber was named to an AG advisory board (AGAC) about the time Sessions ‘appointed’ him. That committee has met with the AG at least as recently as a couple weeks ago.

There’s no stealth way to conduct serious investigations in such a politically charged atmosphere.

“...and at some point he will surface and fire off his missiles to take down the Deep State denizens.”

It takes some strong hallucinationagenic drugs for anyone to believe that.

Sessions requested the hiring of Rosenstein.

None of this would be happening were it not for Sessions’ betrayal — of Trump, the nation, the nation’s history.

His name will one day drown out Benedict Arnold’s for treason, if the nation survives.

If I’m not mistaken, AG Barr
Just met with Huber a week or so ago. It’s interesting how there haven’t been any leaks. It’s fun watching certain government figures squirm for a change.

If there is no investigation, as all evidence seems to indicate, there is nothing to leak.

I liked Sessions as a Senator and his initiatives on immigration plus he gave us Stephen Miller, for which I am grateful.

But he wasn’t up to facing down the deep state. He got punched in the mouth by Al Franken, of all people, and never managed to get up off the floor. He was out-maneuvered by Rosenstein and the Obama-Clinton partisan bureaucracy at DOJ.

I think he was first and foremost worried about his own backside after being nominated for AG. He recused himself unnecessarily but failed to call out Rosenstein for his even greater, actual conflict in the matter which should have disqualified Rosenstein from participating in the matter, including in particular appointing a special counsel which Rosenstein should never have had the power to do because of his own personal conflict in the matter.

Sessions must have realized that Generalissimo McCabe of the National Police Ministry was investigating him for ‘Russia collusion’ and obstruction and that if he actually did anything concrete to investigate or otherwise interfere in the Russia Hoax aimed at taking down Trump, Generalissimo McCabe would have him sent to prison on a ginned-up obstruction charge.

Asking Huber to take a look at the situation (but not actually open an investigation) and report back was just a way to relieve the pressure on himself until such time as either Trump was successfully removed in the coup, or the coup failed.

I think the same with IG Horowitz. It should take about 8 weeks to do a report on the FISA abuse. In a few hours of investigation the IG could easily have known everyone who signed the FISA applications or prepared it. Then it was a matter of interviewing them and reviewing the documentary evidence. Then writing a report.

Instead the FISA abuse report by the IG is taking years. Obviously, Horowitz was dragging things out to see if Trump would be removed. Now that it appears he will not be, we may get a FISA abuse report out of Horowitz during the summer.

Now that Mueller is done, after the report is finally made public, perhaps Huber will actually seriously do a criminal investigation.

But I think he is the wrong person, a mediocre uniparty DOJ lifer. We need a strong person with a truly outside team to investigate the DOJ and the FBI, as well as the CIA and the role of foreign intelligence services. Huber is just not up to the task.

I have no idea what’s going on, but if I wanted to fantasize, I’d say that it looks like AG Barr is good at not leaking, and maybe Huber is, too. Maybe Huber has been working behind the scenes in stealth. I never was much of a “Sessions is building a huge case behind the scenes” person, but if Huber IS doing his job, it would be smart for him to release his information a little closer to 2020. IF I wanted to fantasize.

Huber is an Obama appointee. If you put an Obama appointee in charge of investigating Obama appointees, what do you think is going to happen?

Has Huber used any ‘resources’ (money)? That’s one way to find out if ANYTHING is being done.
