How was the alarm expressed? Was there a smoke detector that went off and alerted people? Did someone notice something (hmmm) and call in an alarm?

A modern fire detection system identifies what sensor tripped. So you go to that sensor’s location and see what is going on there. Was that done?

Exactly! How precisely was the alarm triggered? Automatic? Human? Heat? Sound?
