First she was covered up. Now, apparently she is gone. The bronze statue of the late singer Kate Smith has apparently been removed from outside Xfinity Live! as the Flyers looked into racist lyrics she sang. Talk radio host Tony Bruno tweeted around 9:30 this morning that the statue was gone and posted video.

Political correctness is a very strong force in our culture.
Suddenly one day, someone stumbles across some old song sung by Kate Smith, which would be considered improper by today’s standards, and suddenly, the next day, she is banished.
Eventually , based on this mindset, ALL of history and culture of the past will need to be destroyed, because there is nobody from the past, who can be found to have a 21st century politically correct worldview or who did not violate current liberal standards in some way.

Someone discovered an old song she sang in the 1920s or 30s about “darkies”. So this crime against humanity, to the politically correct crowd of today, cancels out the rest of her career, cancels out the beautiful sounds of “God Bless America”, because she sang a song almost 100 years ago with “darkies” in the lyrics.
Because she sang that song, she is perceived to be racist.
The funny thing is, mom never told me about Kate Smith's frugality until about 13 years or so ago.

She sang a song titled, “That’s why darkies were born”, a song which was also recorded by Paul Robeson but liberals don’t care about the fact that Robeson sang the song because he was a black man and an avowed communist. If Kate Smith had been a black communist they woudn’t care about her version of the song either.
The Left is holding everyone who ever existed accountable for not being The Left.

Smith teamed up with known black communist Paul Robeson on some of that material. Which if examined was exposing racial difficulties experienced by blacks. Well, part of that is because blacks are not held to the same standards on the use of such vile language. Apparently they are excused because of the legacy of slavery.
