President Trump tweeted Saturday that Fox News analyst Andrew Napolitano met with him and urged the president to nominate Napolitano to the Supreme Court, as well as grant a pardon to one of the judge's friends.
Napolitano, a former superior court judge in New Jersey, currently works as a legal analyst for Fox News. In a pair of tweets Saturday evening following his campaign rally in Green Bay, the president accused the commentator of becoming "very hostile" after Trump supposedly turned him down for the nation's highest court.
"Thank you to brilliant and highly respected attorney Alan Dershowitz for destroying the very dumb legal argument of Judge Andrew Napolitano," Trump wrote.
"Ever since Andrew came to my office to ask that I appoint him to the U.S. Supreme Court, and I said NO, he has been very hostile! Also asked for pardon for his friend. A good 'pal' of low ratings Shepard Smith," the president added, referring to the afternoon host of Fox's newscast that has often been critical of the White House.
The White House did not immediately return a request for comment on when the conversation with Napolitano occurred, or to whom the Fox News commentator had supposedly asked Trump to pardon.
Trump frequently showers praise on Fox News figures that are seen as allies of his administration, including Dershowitz who has frequently defended the president amid the now-concluded investigation into Russian election interference and his campaign.
>>> A good ‘pal’ of low ratings Shepard Smith
‘Buddy’ is probably a better term.
The “judge,” with his ever present stupid laugh, has been gratuitously smearing Trump at every opportunity without pushback from any Fox host.
If Trump does not respond, who will?
Napolitano is unwatchable.
I dont see the qualifications. New Jersey Superior Court Judge, TV talking head (media whore), no federal experience. He has certainly been flashing his legal brilliance of late.
Ha! Apparently you’re wrong.
What you said!
Nicely put.
Napolitano = Herman Munster when he grew up .....douchebag 1st class
The Judge has pretty thoroughly flipped on Trump.
Makes me think he was looking to get on the USSC (who wouldn’t, despite his being too old for the pick) — and then flipping once he got there.
If you watched “The Apprentice”, nothing changed about Trump. He wants competency and he wants results. That is why people hate him. They’re used to favors and having strings pulled.
The light in the loafers Judge could stir up a heap of trouble if he brings in his Gaystapo pals.
I think that as part of Napolitano being reinstated at FOX he had to agree to attack Trump on a regular basis.
Napolitano is just going to deny it then it will be He said, He said.
Completely “my bad”... I confused him with Joe Digenova.... I’m wrong here.
“light in the loafers Judge”
When I read that Trump included Smith in his tweet I wondered if was he subtly sending a message.
Napolitano has made plenty of positive comments about the President too.
Even friends argue.
10% positive.
90% negative.
The senior judicial analyst ain’t a friend.
I have had such great hope for Truump. He really need not step so low. Why would he say that abou Nap even if true and I have always thought Nap really dumb and often wrong about the law.
Can someone please temper the Prez?

Dude, hes simply telling the truth and it goes a long way in explaining Naps anti-Trumpism. Did someone slap your balloon away?
correction : Napolitano = EDDIE Munster , when he grew up .
I used to watch the Munsters , all the time . This uncanny parallel has occurred to me for a long time now . First time to mention it .
Well that tells us why The Judge has done a 360 concerning the President. Seems like he and POTUS got along before the election, but something has been off with the Judge for awhile now.
Trump SHOULD "out" people who asked favors of him and now trash him.
And Nappy is far less "CONSERVATIVE" than Dershowitz, who is a life long DEM, but a fervent CONSTITUTIONALIST is.
Napolitano was squealing for months that Jared Kushner was going to be indicted.
Until he wasn’t.
