As unflappable as everyone agrees William Barr is, I detected at least once in that hearing that the man was indignant. That flash of very human anger gives me hope that for once we will see our government actually pursue justice.

Yes, those moments give me hope also.

By the way, my wife and I just watched Ken Burns' series on the Civil War. It was informative to a guy like me who hasn't enough knowledge of American history.

A fellow named Shelby Foote was narrating often throughout the series. He was a very witty guy.

Nice to see you posting again ......

All you need to do, Nathan, is to use the catch phrase, "The President engaged in obstruction of INjustice."

All but the snowflakes (who think mobbing is a sign of sanctity, and that accusations are both their own justification AND substantiation)(+) will get the concept immediately.

(+) this is from the Maoist "struggle sessions" or from the Marxist / Berian "show me the man, I'll show you the crime" where guilt is not determined by adjudging actual behaviour against a fixed standard, but by whether or not the accused is a member of a preferred vilain's group (cf the better known "preferred *victim's* group, aka 'intersectionality')

My great grandfather and great grand uncle both marched in Stonewall Jackson's "foot cavalry." They did not surrender until Appomattox.

When one views Ken Burns' excellent documentary about the Civil War it is somewhat lacking in emphasis in my judgment in the degree of sacrifice not just of blood but of endurance, health and prosperity rendered by these confederates. Burns was hardly a Southerner and could not be expected to prominently feature that facet which, had he done so, might have added a richer perspective to the motivations of those who yielded so much of themselves. It might have helped bring us to a place today, going on 20 years later, where these men might be accorded the dignity of fighting for something better than slavery, we might then be spared seeing their statues pulled down into rubble by our domestic Taliban.

Barr is in more control of himself than Kavanaugh was...maybe the young daughters and wife make the difference...

Well, of course you have gone to the heart of it, the whole purpose here on the part of the Democrats is to label the president in the designated villainous tribe and then apply the appropriate punishment for the handy crime, in this case "obstruction."

Show me the tribe and I'll show you the crime.

In order to get to Trump they have to get past Attorney General Barr so they traduce him just as they have traduced Trump.

The Democrats' problem with respect to bar is that he has neither the persona nor the record to justify their slanders.

CBS This Morning hostess NorDUH O’Donnell was peeing in her pants about the hearing saying Dems had him and proved he is corrupt and should resign. These people really are that stupid. The attorney Ricki Kleyman proves that even lawyers can suffer TDS.

It is obvious that the Dems now know that AG Barr is looking into possible administrative malfeasance, and, if found, he will prosecute. The Dems will do anything to discredit and remove Barr in their demands to be above the law. I read a story that John Brennan threatened violence if he is prosecuted; don’t know if it is true that he said that, but we know it is in the Dem’s hearts.

Red Herring:
2. something, especially a clue, that is or is intended to be misleading or distracting.

synonyms: bluff, blind, ruse, feint, deception, subterfuge, hoax, trick, ploy, device, wile, sham, pretense, artifice, cover, smokescreen, distraction, expedient, contrivance, machination; More informaldodge, put-on, put-up job "it's more of a red herring than a legitimate plot element"

It is all to cover for Obama and Hillary crimes and preparation for the next wave of more audacious attempts to "fundamentally change the country".

I wholly agree!

Just IMAGINE a Republican party that fought back and started throwing their Democrat behinds in prison where they belong...

I think the dems have already contacted Mueller to provide a narrative that will cast doubt on Barr’s testimony. I think Mueller is more than willing to lie if necessary and throw his church buddy under the bus. Mueller’s letter and it’s timely release demonstrates he’s a backstabber.

They must convince the American people that Trump should be impeached for obstructing his own exoneration.
