The problem is not that Congress can harass the President. The problem (really several) is that, under the rubric of oversight, Congress has arrogated to itself powers it does not constitutionally have. Congress is a legislative body only. It has no legitimate judicial or law enforcement role (other than impeachment). I question if it has any constitutional oversight role, but to the extent it might, that is only for the purpose of informing them on legislative matters. Congress in its modern form is nothing more than a means to enrich congress critters, give them a platform to increase their power, and pass taxpayer “favors” to their families, friends, fellow partisans and big donors.

I’ve wondered if Trump and/or his family can sue Congress for harassment. There’s no doubt blatant harassment is happening; anyone can see that. How much are they supposed to take?

The only way that I can go along with the Democrat nonsense, is that by constantly investigating Trump they can’t pass other ridiculous legislation with as great a regularity.

True. The democrats realize they’re not getting any of their agenda passed with Trump as president and the senate in republican hands. The house’s function right now is to obstruct and harass for the next two years and keep Trump from getting any of his priorities enacted. That was Mueller’s function for the last two years, keep the president under a manufactured cloud of suspicion and limited in what he could do for as long as possible. Once that ran its course and couldn’t be prolonged any more the Democrats had to find another way to lock him down so the silly obstruction and tax return BS was tossed out. If it wasn’t that then they’d come up with some other ridiculous faux outrage. Their agenda is to lock him down through endless harassment and manufactured crisis until they can retake the presidency.
