Don't you just love Democrats?
With the lawsuit boondoggle and bankruptcy due to liability from last yearss fire, This may very well be the only solution that doesnt bankrupt them again.
What??? The engineers who designed the transmission lines didn’t put the wires far enough apart to prevent them touching in high winds?? Who could possibly have foreseen winds in outdoor transmission lines?
Sweet!.
Of course people will be building fires to cook and stay warm if the weather is cool, without electricity, so there will likely be even more fires.
And no electrical power to pump water to fight fires with.
Gotta love left wing governments and utilities....
But on the bright side, maybe the companies that make and sell generators will make a bunch of dough...
And hopefully the generators won’t overheat or short out and start any fires.
One step closer to North Korea.
Blame Global Warming!
Trees burn rapidly, nowadays, and the wind blows windier.
Probably the electricity has gotten sparkier, too!
I’ve been fully expecting this. Demonizing has a cost.
Think about this for a minute.
I suspect PG&E is going to shut off power as often as they can. Sooner or later the PUC will order them to keep the power on, and suddenly the liability is now on the state not on PG&E.
You just got to love Democrats who want renewable power, object to evil utilities run by stupid government employees
California is headed at becoming unlivable, so quickly.
So I guess wind power can’t be transmitted now?
I’m not an operator but I have a question for one....
If the power is off, is there a way to check for broken lines? Must be, cause if they turn the power on a broken line it would just arc and start a fire?
California. Don’t go.
Look at the PG&E logo. Dig into their tech from space based elec grid ability. IN THEIR OWN WORDS they can change target sights at will. Example from the desert southern Cali to a location in n central Calif successfully,,Their own words...
their own web page as I read it.!
This is a new threat in their own words pay attention!
But California, look at all the Green House Gases you will be preventing. Ha, ha, ha. Welcome to the caveman time! Hope no one need emergency treatment! Or fresh water!
It’s time for CA homeowners to invest in propane whole-house generators.
They are surprising affordable and don’t cost too much to run. About 5-8K for most homes.
Couldn’t happen to a better state.
California and it’s sheeple will complain that PG&E can’t be allowed to shut down power to any area, in an attempt to avoid downed power lines causing a wild fire, and they will win that argument and force PG&E to keep the grid open.
Then there will be a bad wildfire this year, with $billions of public and private damage and the state will sue PG&E for causing the wildfire.
Why anyone would want to be the head of PG&E is a mystery. Not many people will knowingly put their head on the public chopping block.
Maybe suing the electric utility into bankruptcy was not such a great idea, after all...
Why don’t they just SELL the Transmission lines to the communities they serve, force them, the new owners to accept all liability? If they say no, Disconnect them.
PG&E is not blacking out power users.
PG&E is limiting liability from power line chasing lawyers.
The customers are irrelevant. Purchasing electricity is a voluntary transaction
