Rod Rosenstein unloaded on former FBI Director James Comey in remarks to the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) on Monday evening, slamming Comey's turn as a "partisan pundit," reiterating that he deserved to be fired, and faulting him for trampling "bright lines that should never be crossed."
Rosenstein formally stepped aside as deputy attorney general two days ago. His speech specifically took aim at Comey's comments earlier this month implying that Rosenstein and Attorney General Bill Barr lacked the "inner strength" to "resist the compromises necessary to survive Mr. Trump."
Comey also derided Rosenstein's "character" and suggested his "soul" had been consumed "in small bites." The former FBI boss, who has taken to posting numerous photographs of himself in nature staring wistfully at trees and roadways since leaving public office, had been showered with media attention in recent months, and his memoir earned him over $2 million.
"Now, the former director is a partisan pundit, selling books and earning speaking fees while speculating about the strength of my character and the fate of my immortal soul," Rosenstein said. "That is disappointing. Speculating about souls is not a job for police and prosecutors. Generally, we base our opinions on eyewitness testimony."

Pretty much one of the definitions of a Weasel.
rosen stein also expanded the special counsel investigation
True; and “the process is the punishment”...
. who says they didn’t use them against the Romney Campaign in 2012?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They didn’t need to use anything against Romney, he was a willing Designated Loser.
It was the tea party that was getting the attention in that time period, mostly by the IRS.
I’m not sure Rosenstein was a snake as much as being incompetent or spineless. Will Chamberlain posted a great analysis on why Mueller was shut down. If you recall, Giuliani was very optimistic that the administrations argument that it was a stretch to apply a particular law against Trump. It was only after Barr was hired that Mueller was instructed that he was chasing his own tail.
I still say if it walks like a weasel, talks like a weasel, and acts like a weasel, it is a weasel.
Excellent reply.
It begins!!!!
The reckoning is happening.
That means RR was a snake. Whatever latitude RR gave Mueller was in the scope memo. A scope memo RR never would think would become public, and which apparently included a green light for Mueller to pursue obstruction of justice.
Even now, after all the revelations, that scope memo still has not been publicized.
I'll be shocked if RR turns out to be a white hat.
I thought “Rosenweasel” was already one of his nicknames.
I knew it!
Dirty Harry (the guy who arrived in DC a pauper and left a multi millionaire) has already admitted to having lied about Romney's taxes. In fact,he expressed pride in the effectiveness of his deceit.
Don’t know for sure what you mean; whether you consider RR a saint or a snake; but keep in mind who he’s married to. Her name escapes me right now, but she’s a hi-power lawyer who has successfully defended many lowlifes in the hi level political world and got them off Scott free.
I remember some time ago someone posted a YouTube video on FR that was close to an hour in length I believe. My memory is fuzzy on the exact contents of the video but it was something to the effect that Trump had a big plan in place that was to bring certain politicians and corruption to justice. Gosh, wish I had that vid handy as it was interesting to watch.
When will Romney find out his 2012 campaign was spied upon as well...
I think that may very well be true
That headline says about the same thing as the other one. This one says that RR defends Comeys FIRING that it WAS NOT obstruction. The other one says RR unloads on coming. Both are in the same vein which is RR is trashing Comey.
