Ehrlich and his wife, Anne Ehrlich (who was uncredited), in 1968.[1][2] It predicted worldwide famine in the 1970s and 1980s due to overpopulation, as well as other major societal upheavals, and advocated immediate action to limit population growth. This is the real reason for the border crisis, as well as the census question debate. The Dems and GOPe know that the only way to appease their base is free stuff, and you need future people to pay for free stuff today. As long as the birth rate is below the replenishment rate (births - deaths), you have an issue where they cannot model out the ability to “pay” for free stuff. Ergo, they WANT the borders open to increase the population, and they want the illegals counted so they can use the bogus numbers in their Bill scoring.
Only it’s not. This is a serious problem with enormous demographic, social, political, and economic consequences. All because mainstream America embraced contraception and is too selfish to give up the lifestyle it affords. Either have more babies or make your peace with millions upon millions of immigrants to fund your Medicare and SS. The “one and done” people have ruined this country.

Illegals are not going to replace the revenue loss. Their average IQ < 90. Do nothing and the populace will have more births, these things are cyclical.

We are attending 6 millennial weddings this year. They are marrying late (think: Obama economy and student loans) but are planning to have children. Many of the millennial women are harvesting their eggs because they are attempting to assure bearing healthy children in their 40s and beyond. Brave new world is here. Not endorsing...just reporting.
Of the highest fertility states --- Alaska, Utah, Idaho, the Dakotas, and Nebraska --- only two of them (SD and NE) come out at above-replacement, and then only by a smidge.
Every other state is below Zero Population Growth, and even states with high numbers of immigrants (like CA, AZ and NM) are way, way under ZPG.
Even the vast majority of FReepers are big defenders of contraception and sterilization (even if not abortion and buggery.) Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer choice.
We are choosing national demise.
