The recent passage of a law in Alabama that essentially bans all abortions in the state resulted in a barrage of coverage of other abortion restrictions being adopted in conservative areas this year. But as FiveThirtyEight illustrated in a story last week, this is not a new trend Republican-controlled states have been chipping away at abortion access since the 2010 elections, which swept the GOP into power in state legislatures and governors mansions across the country.

I posted this because it's a surprisingly objective look at the policies of Democrat and Republican trifecta stats: where the party controls the governorship, and the legislature's both houses.
I found the Democratic policies chilling, to say the least. The Republican policies are good, but should have been passed forty years ago.
One is raising taxes, the other lowering them or not raising.
One is following the rule of law, the other does what it wants when it wants.
One is a control freak, the other believes in freedom.
One is void of character and honesty, the other? I’m not 100% sure.
Number one is trying to subvert the electoral college; illegally nullifying their own citizens votes.
[[What Republicans And Democrats Are Doing In The States Where They Have Total Power]]
Um- they are too paralyzed by Trump Derangement Syndrome to do anything except taking it out on their constituents-
Before passing the abortion bill, the Alabama legislature passed a gas tax hike. Very many people not happy. We don’t vote for Republicans to get taxes raised.
OK FiveThirtyEight, explain Louisiana. Last I looked, Edwards was a DemocRAT.
Subverting the electoral college has everything to do with promoting the power (democrat) of the cities at the expense of the flyover states. Popular vote in the name of democracy was correctly identified as a threat to the principals of the republic form of government being set up by the Founding Fathers. Attempts to allocate a States electoral votes based on popular vote are no different just an attempt to get a foot in the door to weaken the electoral college.
“On the GOP side, national Republicans, particularly Education Secretary Betsy Devos, are strong supporters of charter schools, as an alternative to traditional public schools. But of the six states that dont currently have laws allowing for the creation of charters, four (Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and West Virginia) are totally controlled by the GOP.”
Conservatives in these states need to get going. If there’s one thing they should understand it’s the fact that state-governed schools will be the death of this nation.
Agreed, time for school reform long overdue.
How big is the average school district in Nebraska?
How many of those districts can afford multiple schools serving the same number of students that are now served by one school?
Subverting the electoral college has everything to do with promoting the power (democrat) of the cities at the expense of the flyover states.
