What did me for him was when he waxed universalist on religion when running for president in 2012 and said he welcomed all who bowed to whatever god, mixed them all together in his speech, and placed them all on the same level.

IOW, a peaceful Muslims Allah is equal to Jesus for Romney. Wrong.

Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with a peaceful Muslim if they can be found somewhere but placing their god on the same level as Jesus did it for me.

I gave my senators’ offices an earful today.

Me, too. In fact, have decided to make it a daily event, just like drinking coffee, to contact my Reps/Senators, and anyone else I can think of to voice my anger.

Thanks for sharing the NRSC's number. Will add that to my list.

You could also call the Republican National Committee but that’s a total waste of time. You’re better off talking to your computer.

I have been fighting the use of it for the past 50 years as honestly before that it just wasn’t a word that ANYONE used in the presence of women. It didn’t matter how many jokes were told in family/friend/neighbor get togethers, card playing etc., it just wasn’t used and neither was a substitute for it used. Where did the substitute “f-word” come from? I really don’t remember - it was some news story, wasn’t it? Remember when we used to be able to enjoy movies without the profanity/vulgarity.

We went to see “American Sniper” (Chris Kyle) and I was so disgusted I wanted to get up and leave. It wasn’t so much different from what we’d seen in movies for the past 30-40 years from portrayals of the military guys but the language the wife used in the film.

When we left the theater, I asked my husband if he remembered any movie where the female used language every bit as bad as the male? He had to admit that no - he couldn’t.. There were others walking out of the theater with us and they said the same thing.

In others conversations I actually had people tell me that she didn’t really talk like that - they just took license with the script. That’s a load of malarkey.. If she didn’t speak that way normally, she would not have allowed herself to be portrayed that way in the movie. These discussions were with other women who wouldn’t think twice of using the same language.

I will go to my grave never coming to an understanding of why a filthy mouth is regarded as acceptable.

I too have never been accepting of a filthy mouth.

I remember the movie of which you speak and was also discomfited with the language used and was rather disappointed to say the least.

Some women think it is cool to talk like one of the boys but let me tell you, men when alone and talking about women that speak this way, really have no respect for them. They may laugh when they hear her/them rip off some words in a row but the inside, which is expressed outwardly when women aren’t around, shows they don’t approve of it.

And even many of the “boys” if honest will admit that they are pigs for talking the way they do yet have no repentance over the matter nonetheless.

Rubio reads polls and is a slave to them.

Right, the title seems to be misleading. I think the article demonstrates that Mitch was also misleading when he made it sound like Trump had zero support in the senate though. I don’t think we can know exactly how many support the tariff because some of them are probably keeping quiet.

Lankford was one with his head screwed on right - what happened to him? That remark is not just against tariffs but a slam/insult to the president’s work.

Not really. He’s always been an establishment conservative. Useless in a knife fight, basically.

I gave my senators’ offices an earful today. I called and let them know that until they come up width a viable alternative to Trump’s tariffs, I expect them to support Trump

1) They Senate GOP has proven beyond a doubt they care what their constituents think.
2)Being a party loyalist you’re going vote for them, anyway. Regardless of how much they obstruct the MAGA agenda. So why should they care?

You darned right I will vote for then anyway because with all their flaws, they’re stlll far better than a Democrat. My mission is to stop Democrats with all my being. If nothing else, using Republicans is a defensive move to block Democrats. It is an honorable thing to do to stop Democrats. No one is perfect.

My primary vote in 2016 came down to Trump or Rubio.

I knew Rubio was serious about stopping the flood, and I repeatedly said so.

Everyone is carefully ignoring the fact that the Constitution requires a 2/3 vote of the House, not just the Senate, to override a Presidential veto. Almost a quarter of all the Republican Congressmen (45 of the present 198) would have to vote to override Trump's veto of any new Congressional bill changing his statutory authority to impose tariffs on Mexico.

And ALL of those Republican Congressmen have a primary next spring as their next election. So there is about as much chance of a Trump veto here being overridden by a 2/3 vote of the House of Representatives as there is of the Senate voting by 2/3 to impeach Trump. Neither is going to happen.

When excerpting an article titled, "Here Are The Republicans In Congress Standing With Trump...", why post the three who are against his actions, and only name one who is with him?

Why not just skip to the meat of the article and ignore the nonsense?

However, a number of Republicans are in favor of applying tariffs to Mexico, such as Florida Sen. Marco Rubio...

Republican North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis also defended Trump’s move...

Another senator who has supported Trump’s proposal to apply tariffs to Mexico, is Alabama Republican Sen. Richard Shelby...

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy defended Trump...

and I don't know why the author left out Graham: I'm all for tariffs if it fixes immigration problems
