Bone spurs are really painful; I’ve been unfortunate enough to have heel spurs.

Yup,same here...the heel.Walking was almost impossible.It's easy to imagine how the Army and Marines would reject anyone like that.Not sure about the Navy or Air Force.

I don’t expect that any branch of the armed forces wants people who can only walk with pain and difficulty. It would be hard to do a desk job, much less go up and down stairs on ships (more like ladders) or do pretty much anything physical.
