She knows impeachment will not pass and then the core Dem constituency will be mad that the Dems could not even agree that he committed a crime.

Bubba said impeachment was an honor.

Now just imagine if Trump said...."I would consider it an honor to be impeached".

I would add if enough Romney Republican senators vote to remove, Trump will still win in 2020.

I agree with most of what you wrote except that most Democrat members of Congress think that this conspiracy to get rid of Trump never existed. For example Ro Khanna said in a CNN interview that James Baker said the Christopher Steele dossier had nothing to do with the Trump Russia investigation. Ro Khanna believes there was nothing wrong with the Trump Russia investigation. Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want impeachment because the senate will never convict Trump (I think 53 Republicans and Joe Manchin will vote no) and even independents will pay attention and realize the Democrats spent 2019 and 2020 on impeachment, not on the people’s business. The impeachment attempt will reelect Trump.

Your article is correct, of course.

However, it has seemed to me for months that Pelosi/Nadler would certainly wish to air for the MSM's benefit a full blown House debate over Trump they can control.

The object would not be to forward the matter to the Senate but rather simply to raise sufficient questions and doubts for the purpose of defeating Trump in any R preliminaries or the general election.

Of course, they and the MSM must find and quietly support viable R candidates for any primaries and they must generate enough credible witnesses and evidence to stage an endless circus; but it appears they have world-class resources at their disposal.

I heard someone call into a talk radio show suggesting that some people probably believe that if he gets impeached, hillary replaces him.

The money shot in that piece and what she knows and is terrified of.... The President will now have the ability to defend himself, call and question witnesses, present evidence(all of it), and the corruption of this whole process will be on display for all the world to see. The minions in this coup will put themselves in jeopardy of committing Perjury, Violation of Oath of Office, Obstruction, the lawyers on Mueller’s team can get rolled for lying to the court and withholding exculpatory evidence.

It would prove to be a complete Sh*tShow for the Dem’s. For some reason, Pelosi knows this or so it seems that she’s being coached by someone with a little bit of a brain. Her statements prove it when she says she’s not about impeachment but wants to see the man in prison.

I know everyone of us is frustrated to no end about this whole thing and wish the President would put it all out there. But, what better way to do it than in a venue where they won’t be able to hide or spin anything. He puts something out there now, they’ll go after him for something, try to spin it in some way. The information is presented as evidence is an entirely different story and the Dem’s are the ones asking that it become part of the record. They’ll be cutting their own throats.

Trump should insist on impeachment. No stigma if he demands it as a way to reveal deep state corruption. Political jiu-jitsu.

IMPEACH 45!

It would be the greatest troll in history.

Pelosi wants impeachment but just doesn’t want impeachment ... now ... until they get their ducks in a row. Pelosi is not worried about testimony because the MSM will only replay the portions that help them. Sure ... maybe some will watch CSPAN and catch some spineless RINOs “interrogating” witnesses but there will be no gotcha moments. The witnesses are too slick for that and our RINO senators are too incompetent.

The reason they want impeachment is simple ... to tarnish Trump forever in the history books so Trump joins Johnson and Clinton in the Presidents Hall of Shame. Most supporters fired up positively by impeachment will be dead in 30 years. The left writes the history books.

If impeachment is a symbolic effort that would help Trump, then the Russians must be behind the impeachment effort as that seems to be the logical extension of Democrat logic.

Don’t kid yourself. There is a strong likelihood that 25 or so GOPe senators would vote to remove Trump.

Pelosi wants impeachment but it has to be timed to do the most damage to Trump as a candidate for the 2020 election in November. That is what she is trying to do. She does not want to go too early so that the accusations made are not being forgotten. That, and only that is why she is holding off. She, and the rest of the democrats know quite well that even if they get this past the House, it will go nowhere in the Senate. The only value it will have is to slander Trump before the election.

It’s the same reasons Mueller was only ever going to write a report. He was never going to indict PDJT. The second this becomes a legal matter, which impeachment is not, then all the rules change. The discovery process allows for the defense to see everything.

Ultimately, there were only two viable ways of getting rid of PDJT. First, through the process of the investigation they’ll be able to claim obstruction of justice. Which was supposed to be easy - but even that requires something of substance, not just talk. Second, the shear interference and pressure on PDJT causing him to resign. Which was never going to happen, they all completely underestimated the man.

Now they’ve backed themselves into a corner and Pelosi knows it. She knows how pushing for impeachment is only a lose-lose for D’s. Her real problem is the radical left, like AOC, aren’t reasonable and they’re causing political infighting which also hurts the party.

This is all the result of dripping hatred. They can’t contain themselves, now they’ll proceed to consume each other. What an example of human nature, it’s almost Biblical.

I think you guys that think the Senate will convict Trump are crazy. Even if a Senator doesn’t personally care for Trump, he/she will have their constituents to answer to in addition to their party. If there is a vote to convict Trump, the RNC would put tremendous pressure on the Republicans to vote against it. Having him convicted in the Senate would be incredibly damaging to the Republican party. There is NO WAY the RNC is going to let that happen.
