President Donald Trump said he would be rolling out a 'phenomenal' new healthcare plan within the next two months, and says healthcare will be a primary focus leading up to his 2020 election campaign.
Trump has repeatedly called for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as "Obamacare," and has promised to pass a bill that would offer " insurance for everybody." In 2017, Republican lawmakers made serious efforts to replace Obamacare with an updated version called the American Health Care Act, or ACHA, however the bill was ultimately tabled.
Speaking to ABC News in an interview which aired Sunday night, Trump vowed that healthcare would be on the top of his agenda in the leadup to the presidential elections.
"We almost had health care done. Health care's a disaster, Obamacare," Trump told host George Stephanopoulos. "If we win back the House, we're going to produce phenomenal health care. And we already have the concept of the plan, but it'll be less expensive than Obamacare by a lot."
When pressed for specifics on his plan, Trump said his administration would be announcing changes "in about two months. Maybe less."

Trump has to come up with a plan, and apparently by August 31st. Looks like Jared is going to have to roll out his middle east peace plan in a hurry so he can turn his attention to this.
Short of closing the entire border, what the hell are your suggestions?
Do you want Trump and his kids walking guard duty at El Paso?
Gutless. It is exactly what nervous nancy will do.
Fair enough. Let's make a note to meet again August 31st and we can discuss the Trump healthcare plan in detail.
This whole thing is an entitlement. When I was a kid there wasn’t anything like health insurance. You got sick, you called the doc, he came out to the house, and you paid out of your pocket. You planned and saved for issues like this. Health insurance is not a Godsend, it is a business like car or home insurance. It makes money for the insurer. And the public has been led to believe it is an entitlement so someone else can cover the majority of the cost which went up because of the cost of malpractice insurance. We aren’t even done with one screw up in this with the Affordable Care Act that raised prices on healthcare and Trump wants to do the same thing. Stay out of it, Trump.

The CoC Chamber of Commerce are the Enemy of the People.
They are beggars trying to socialize costs. They could not manage their way out of a Doctor’s office.
They should be used for tank target practice.
We pay way more to cover far fewer.
And are deductibles are right up there.
I want what Fedzilla’s employees have: CHOICE.
>
>>Note to BI: Its not a healthcare plan.
Its an insurance revamp.
>
Nor is it an ‘insurance’ re-vamp; pre-existing != UNKNOWN.
I seriously doubt anything, anytime soon, will correctly move anything into the non-3rd party realm of personal responsibility (acquire, use, pay)
Yes, love this! :)
>
It will be a painful reminder of the useless “repeal & replace” promise Republicans made over and over.
>
Useless? But they PROMISED /s
‘Small govt’ that, as expected, quickly turned to “*WE* can run it better\faster\cheaper+”.
(R)N(C), the Pinto of political parties
Insurance exists to manage risk.
Health insurance is no different.
Different people have a different tolerance for different kinds/levels of risk.
That’s why CHOICE is so important.
If Trump sees to it that the public has access to the kind of choice public employees get, it’ll be a success to my mind.
Pointless unless he wants to attract the few moderates out there.
It is never going to pass the House and unlikely the Senate.
Do you really think this would do it?
One would hope that Trump is thinking ahead. If the Supreme Court strikes down Obamacare next year then it would be helpful for the administration to have an alternative ready to replace the loss of pre-existing condition coverage and caps on payouts.
Trump is doing better than I thought he would
But yes, the “wall” is taking some time.
Getting rid of obamacare - this is the first time I’ve heard Trump talk about it since the election.
(Family of five, $2,460 a month premium, $10,000 deductible.)
FUBO.
If it involves leaving the middlemen in, then it is more of the same.
I have nver seen a health insurer perform cpr, or sugery. They are middlemen denying care and raking in the taxpayer cash.
Worsee than they.. they have made untold sums of taxpayer cash for “administering” medicare.
End the insurer gravy train before it kills us all.
Taking in and adding 10 thousand illegals and their offsprings offspring is also bankrupting our care for the least able.
Praying for real solutions and not bipartisan caves to medicare for all.
Here’s a phenomenal plan - free market capitalism.
Trump can propose the most wonderful, winning health care proposal -- knowing full well that the Democrats in Congress will never accept it. This effectively diminishes its value as a hot-button issue in 2020.
Obama, the RATs, & nadless GOP “destroyed” our medical industry. Does your doctor speak without a thick accent? Do you get more than 10 minutes with your doctor? Can you get into a specialist without waiting months? Are you being asked a lot of personal questions that go into a national database? Is your data secure? NO
God willing, President Trump will fix it. Bring the manufacturing of medications aka generics back into the USA where they must be inspected so we know what’s truly in them. If you doubt this is an issue, I recommend you find out where your drugs are being made as in China or some third-world hole? With what chemicals in them, e.g., cancer causing ingredients anyone? Side effects anyone?
Close the border. Send the invaders back.
Yes, I know that - and you're right - if you're filing the claims for yourself it's a nightmare. But that's a separate issue.
That said, this plan hands over that part of the job over to the medicare bureaucracy. They're already primed to do this... Medicare has the list of 'what they'll pay for what' and they can use that list FOR the benefit of citizens.
The $500 a year per citizen administered by Medicare almost doubles the value. It also means rip-off 'emergency rooms' can't charge $14,000 for an hour's worth of 'care'....
What sets this aside - makes it different from liberal socialism scams is the money is under the control of the citizen. It's the difference between being a 'valued customer' and a 'charity case'. Capitalism Care creates a healthy incentive as opposed to the 'Veteran Care' or Medicaid. The citizens works to keep cost down because it's HIS money. Money NOT spent will be rolled over into a Vanguard account with the citizens name on it... Young people can take the risk of 'self-insuring' knowing they're building up a hefty heath fund.
Better, corrupt government officials can't raid 'the trust fund' because there is NO TRUST FUND. The money sits in accounts owned by Citizens.
