California is the duplicate of Pakistan. Los Angeles or San Francisco (choose either one) is the equivalent of the Karachi pesthole. Sacramento of the miserable Islamabad. Oakland of any number of slums from Karachi to Peshawar. The government is either disfunctional or malfunctional. There is the occasion outbreak of some rare disease. The farmers are being strangled due to lousy water policies. The ethnic divide is a multiple-division. Finally, the smart money has left, and the state is on the verge of bankruptcy.
