The House on Wednesday voted 332-95 to kill the first articles of impeachment brought forward under the new Democratic majority, showing off a deep divide among Democrats on whether to go forward with an effort to unseat President Trump.
A majority of Democrats along with the chamber's Republicans voted to table the measure sponsored by Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), while 95 Democrats voted in favor of it.
It's the first time the Democratic House has been confronted with a vote on impeachment, and comes a week before special counsel Robert Mueller is set to testify before two committees on Capitol Hill.
Green, whose previous impeachment votes have accused Trump of inflaming racial tensions, offered the measure immediately after the House on Tuesday voted to condemn Trump over tweets targeting four minority Democratic congresswomen.

No. She couldn’t. An impeachment resolution is privileged and HAS to be brought to the floor for a vote. Her only option to avoid that would be to convince that nutjob Al Green to withdraw the resolution, and she knew he wouldn’t do that.
thus, she had three choices:
1. hold a vote on the resolution itself and put ever House member on the spot.
2. vote to send it to committee, which was equally unpalatable to enough Dems that that wouldn’t pass
3. vote to table the resoltion (thus effectively killing it), which was the only option where she could get enough votes from the Dems plus the GOP to achieve a majority vote ...

Part of this is laughing at the Jihad Crows; watching the Dems eat each other up until there isn't a Dem. party....heard that Biden is thinking of throwing in the towel (to much dirt on his background) LOLOL...as if he didn't know that earlier...

Next time try bringing some actual charges. For example: destruction of information under subpoena; paying a foreign entity for damaging information about a presidential candidate; actual flight logs showing participation with underage activities; or maybe even negligence of duty that gets an Ambassador murdered.

Good analysis. The minority leader suggested tabling the resolution, which would have let the Democrats off the hook. She could have gone to Green and suggest that he withdraw until after the Mueller testimony where they “might” find their smoking gun. Of course, there is no smoking gun, or even a warm gun, and, I think even the dimmest Democrat knows that. But Green put a whole lot of his fellow Democrats on the spot. So, my question is, why didn’t she use the upcoming Mueller testimony as a cat’s paw to get the whole thing off the floor?
As an aside, I think “The Squad” is skating on thin ice and could find themselves sanctioned by the entire Democratic party. They certainly aren’t making friends. The Squad is actually demonstrating racism whereas Trump’s statements are clearly not racist.
This little stunt looks to have split the Democratic coalition nearly in half. Nice work, losers.
