bah.
trump doesn’t want Congress to have the great power over him that a war would give them.
he’d end up like bush: giving congress whatever it wanted in exchange for the ability to do the job.
And losing, like Bush.
That’s how our Constitution works.

looking forward to an ‘iranian’ attack on a Chinese ship LoL!

[trump doesn’t want Congress to have the great power over him that a war would give them.]

Praying Mantis lasted all of 1 day, during which half of Iran’s Navy was destroyed or damaged. Congress has no ability to rein Trump in for a strike campaign even lasting 60 days, thanks to the War Powers Act. It gives him an additional 30 days to wind down operations. That’s enough to destroy every piece of military equipment valued at over $1m that’s owned by Iran.

That’s not even counting the authorization for operations in the Middle East provided in the wake of 9/11. The Iranians took the entire US embassy hostage in 1979. That’s a terrorist act, and an act of war. They sponsored the massacre of 200+ Marine peacekeepers, in a terrorist attack, who were in Lebanon as part of a UN resolution, tasked with keep apart Israeli troops and the PLO. We have plenty of reason to bomb the hell out of Iran.

The media keeps posing false choices. We are in the position of a guy with a scoped rifle hundreds of yards away from an attacker armed with a knife. There is no reason to get close to the knife-armed assailant. Blow him away from a distance.
