Essentially Trump is a holding action. The Senate is the last bastion of the power of the Conservative Americans, but as more and more states flip Blue it's going to become unwinnable, as will the Electoral College for the same reason.
California is the ultimate poster child. In the 1960s we got President Nixon, a California conservative and Republican. In the 1980s we got President Reagan, a California conservative and Republican.
No way that any national-caliber Republican is coming from California now. No way that California elects Republicans to state wide offices. No way that California becomes a battleground in any future election, and threatens to flip GOP.
Is Oregon really any different now?
