While it is pretty obvious this will not withstand a court challenge, the California Republican Party could easily nullify it anyway by switching to a Caucus to select their delegates to the convention.

In a Caucus the candidates do not appear on the primary ballot and the need for tax returns never materializes.

None of them would understand the info anyway, that’s why we pay tax pros. The dims have wasted and entire 2 1/2 yrs attacking the Pres. his family and everyone he has ever met. Talk about obstruction of justice.

I'm all for a bill that requires any candidate to appear on any ballot must release full and complete collegiate transcripts (grades optional, but must show whether completed) .

And, the above must show full name used at the time and any and all ac. probationary periods, and all courses dropped ahead of failing.

Similarly, complete medical history, including any psychological diagnoses and/or therapy or treatment.

Similarly, complete rap sheet, including any and all arrests, convictions, and any time served. (Along these lines, sitting members of congress and their staffs should be routinely tested for illegal drugs.)

Taxes? Absolutely not, and for one reason only. The tax laws are sometimes vague and conflicting and can be confusing to even tax professionals. If DJT (or any candidate) releases his or her taxes ( even assuming they are squeaky clean ) some tax lawyers can allege bad things and make good emotional cases for the accusations. Tax returns can be too easily abused by the wrong peeps.

Oh, but they used to scream and scream over red states wanting a birth certificate.

Two sides of the same nutty coin.

He should just ignore it. CA is not going Republican in any event. When he wins without CA, the left will weep bitter tears.

The Governor of California has no jurisdiction over federal tax filings. However, he could do this for California state tax returns.

Now, if Trump has no business in California, then he has no California tax returns to file. Trump does own a golf course in Los Angeles.

Here in Ca. he’s known as “Any Threesome Newsome”....we may start seeing bumper stickers with Gov. Moonbeam’s face and the words “miss me yet?” I believe Newsome is more destructive than the old hippie.

It’s an attempt to hijack the election by making sure he doesn’t win the popular vote thereby ensuring that he won’t get the delegates from the Blue States that ascribe to the popular vote.

Need to show a tax return to be on a ballot.

Dont need an I.D. to vote.

I thought Savage’s line was “any twosome Newsom”.

Anyway, if you notice, he got through the campaign for Governor without any of the idiot Republicans pointing it out.

Tax records are confidential.

What if a state wrote a bill demanding release of a candidates health records?

Five years? That will only cover since ‘15... mebbe ‘14. And yes, the bill is aimed at Trump, so it’s a slam-dunk for being unconstitutional. And it’ll also punch a hole a mile wide in the drive to undo the Electoral College. Nicely played, Donald.

How do you get on the general election ballot without being on the primary ballot? Will write in votes be allowed?

The requirements to run for President are listed in the Constitution. I don’t know if states can have separate requirements.

There is no Constitutional requirement that California holds an election for President. The state legislature is free to allocate its electors as it sees fit.

California doesn’t allow write-ins on its general election ballots. Don’t know if that applies to the Presidential ballot.

Trump wont win CA even if he was on the CA ballot, same with NY.

This would give Trump ammo to challenge the popular vote if he wins re-election in 2020.
*********************************************
But with Trump not on the 2020 California ballot, a number of California Republican candidates for the US House of Representatives who otherwise would have won, will lose — along with additional loses “down ballot”. This would be a DemocRATS’ dream come true.

I want to see Dianne Fineswine’s tax return. She and her husband are probably more crooked than the Pelosi crime family.
