I noticed that, on the day of the protest.
It made me proud, but also somewhat uncomfortable.
Trump has NOT weighed in on the protests, at least not yet. I do hope the protesters do not over-estimate the patience of the government.
I remember the protests at Tiananmen. The protesters, would not back down.
I sort of wish they had.

The Brits sealed the fate of Hong Kong at the end of the nineteenth century. It is a Chinese matter and there’s no good reason for the USA to have any involvement in protests there.

You couldn’t be more wrong. It’s ALWAYS a good idea for the US government to speak in favor of liberty and individual freedom, anywhere and everywhere around the globe.

Right on. The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
This is why we are losing America The Beautiful. Maybe our words and prayers can save another country.
That is why President Trump is winning... he is speaking truths... even hard ones. His record on targeting traffickers and reigning in our justice system is either just the beginning... or our last dying attempt.

I've been to Hong Kong. What does that matter? Presumably you have been to both places so you know better than the commenter?

Lived there. Son born there. Was there during cultural revolution riots. That was the last time there were violent demonstrations in HK. This will not end well.

Shouldn't the Dems told the protesters that they are racist for flying the American flag? 😋

You couldnt be more wrong. Its ALWAYS a good idea for the US government to speak in favor of liberty and individual freedom, anywhere and everywhere around the globe. I agree with you, with key words being "speak in favor of liberty".

The 99 year lease for Hong Kong and the New Territories between Britain and China was executed in 1898 which would be the end of the nineteenth century.
