It was kinda shitty of him to die after all they did to him. Man! Some people just can’t take a joke.
It was sarcasm, I was just getting the jump on the 50% of posters to this thread who would like to say this, and have in the past. This event was pure negligence and indifference for human life or welfare, All prior to being afforded due process and found guilty by a jury of one’s peers.
I’m on your side with this.
The “article” is a liberal hit piece.
But it does mention many factors that resulted in this death...
Cocaine, schizophrenia, resisting arrest, the paramedics, Versed, and then stupid cops.
I personally blame Tony Timpa for 2/3 of his death. Then paramedics for another 10%. Cops take the remaining 23.
It was probably an honest mistake. The media thought George Zimmerman was Jewish until it was too far along for them to stop, then they just rode it out. They don’t often goof up, but once in a while the media does.
While I generally support LEO’s if and when they are out of line or abuse their position, they need to pay, just like ANYONE would.

Right???
And those nice cops were gonna buy Tony some waffle for breakfast too!
The 6story puts most of your assumptions to rest. The cops should have turned guy on his side. A trial may well prove he was suffocated. We will see.
victim had a lot to do with his own demise”
Definetely. As far as the joking etc it may work in their favor as it shows intention and they did not think they were hurting him. Also the following.
“The type of physical restraint used on Mr. Timpa is commonly used by officers to control combative and intoxicated individuals,” DPA president Michael Mata said in the statement. “We expect the officers to be cleared of these baseless charges.”

murder, murder, murder
My guess is when the jury sees and hears the video they'll be found GUILTY of something... not to mentions a massive civil suit coming.
He didn’t suffocate. He had a heart attack.
Cops could’ve been nicer, but looks like no crime to me.
If they were pushing on the back of his head, squishing his face into the dirt, it’d be suffocation and crime.
Not so here.
” Who gets credit for the kill or do they have to share it? “
Everlasting shame on you !
“They should have done it without the mocking though.
A jury will not be able to get past that in this emotion driven world of today.”
A jury should not have to get past that. We have to expect more professional behavior from public servants. Whether this is murder/manslaughter, I can’t answer. But it is clear, these officers need re-training or something to get past behaving like kindergarteners.
And they do not need the massive number of cops that were on location. There were too many there with nothing to do but watch which further encourages the locker room behavior and snide commentary.
“Cops will go through hell for something the perp did to himself.”
He handcuffed himself and buried his own face in the dirt? Weird.
The man needed help. He called 911 to get that help. The responding public servants FAILED spectacularly to provide that help.
“He didnt suffocate. He had a heart attack.”
Ever suffocate? Even partially? Yeah, it puts a toll on the heart. Your body supercharges the heart in a desperate attempt to get oxygen to cells. Your post is like saying, ‘Falling does not kill, only the sudden stop at the end.’
“If you need help dont call the cops if you know what is good for you.”
Just pull up a list of the things they carry on their belt and ask yourself, if those things are their default tools, how much are they going to help you?
Suffocation would show in the pathology. It’s a distinct form of death.
The dope and the emotional state would be larger contributors than having his face on the ground.
He was also down 15 minutes. Had it been breathing difficulty to the degree you believe, he wouldn’t have made it one.
My apologies for misunderstanding you. It was a long drive home from vacation and I think my brain is still in slug mode.
Watch the video become the DPD recruiting ad.
No need to apologize at all, It’s my fault, I should have indicated I was being sarcastic. Hope your vacation went well. :)
