Half the people at lowes don’t seem to work anyway.

**************

And the one’s who do probably can’t understand the assembly directions.

Obviously, you're not a business owner.

Why would you spend more money on entry level workers who might put your operation and customers at risk by coming to work stoned and high? That doesn't make any sense at all from a business point of view.

That's the way democRATS look at the minimum wage and companies. Wages aren't high enough and corporations are bad. Just let the workers have their way.

Also, given the drugs on the street now, the user doesn’t know if he is going to get mildly happy, have a heart attack or go into a killing rage.

************

The drug problem is a societal epidemic — and its getting worse.

Anyone trafficking in or peddling deadly substances should receive deadly punishment. Until that happens nothing is going to change and our society will continue to pay the consequences for its failure to deal with the problem.

Trump is trying his best to stop the flow of poison into our country but he gets no support from the useless congress.

I hate when you go to the check out and they ask for my phone #. I always say NO. Just ring me up. and the cashier always looks stunned that i said NO!

Radio Shack used to be like that. I would just say "I prefer being an international man of mystery", and the clerk would take my money.

Had a interesting talk with a M.O.D. (Manager On Duty) on a recent product recall I had. She said, if I recall correctly they ask their associates to stress customers fill in customer survey & mention all are read by the store manager & posted for associates to read and with added comments. These are the voice of consumer & are rated (% wise) with other stores. Access to the survey is at the bottom of very receipt with a chance to win $5 grand. One thing I do recall if Lowe’s could figure out (quote) “service, service, service then they would be more serious competition” I left with a Hmmmm...

My last company fired the janitorial staff and contracted it out. Suddenly all the computer equipment started going missing. And any food or money you kept in your drawers.

I wonder if there was a connection?

I am retired military. I have never had a problem getting a discount at Lowes. Never had one problem.

*************

I have had problems with the discount at my local Lowes so I no longer shop there.

When I was a kid, I lived in Spain when my dad was stationed there in the Air Force.

We rented a nice home in a small town because there was no base housing. My parents wanted to put in a fireplace in one of the living rooms.

So my dad hired some local laborers who knew how to build a fireplace and paid them so much an hour.

Well, it was taking forever for the fireplace to get made. The job dragged on and on and on.

When my dad asked our landlord, who was Spanish and lived next door to us, what to do, he said you shouldn't have paid them by the hour. That way they'll drag the job out as long as possible to get more hours in.

So my dad went back to the boss of the workers and said he was going to cap the job at so much and that was it. A price to finish the job or they were gone.

The fireplace was finished within the week.

Oh man. Just down load either the Lowe’s or Home Depot App, then use the voice command for your item search! Bingo, you’ll get the inventory in stock PLUS precise location, Aisle & Bay number. So simple, smart & a HUGE time saver!!

Lowes could use a workforce adjustment...

If I go to a Lowes looking for something and can’t find it, I’ll stand there for a bit scanning the shelves. After a few minutes, a worker will wander by.

“Can I help you with something?” he asks.

“Sure,” I reply. “Can you find me one of these?” I hand him the piece.

“I can help you with that,” he says, then proceeds to stand beside me, scanning the shelves.

A bit later, another worker appears. “How’s it going?” he asks.

The first worker replies, “He needs one of these.”

“Oh,” says the second worker. “I think we have those.” He then proceeds to stand next to the first worker — and me — scanning the shelves.

Now we have three people scanning the shelves.

I look sidelong at the two workers thinking: “I was just doing that.”

Before a third worker appears to scan the shelves, I say “Thank you. I think I have one of these at home.”

And leave.

Obviously, you're not a business owner.

Well, then I don't know what to tell them. Keep wages low and attract stoners. Raise wages and dip into profits. Or hire illegals. Those are your choices.

Eliminate drug testing and get ready to start paying higher premiums to cover the risk of heavy objects falling off the top shelf, as well as other risks of a low grade work force.

I dunno. We seemed to do just fine during the 70s, 80s, and 90s without drug testing every employee who operated a cash register.

Driving a forklift is a different job. I assume Lowes has employees who are licensed and qualified separately to operate a forklift and they are paid differently from cashiers.

“Anyone trafficking in or peddling deadly substances should receive deadly punishment.”

The rewards for trafficking are too great and those who do it are not concerned with consequences. This starts at a young age. Tampa moved a lot of Section 8 renters into my parent’s formerly safe, but lower class neighborhood. I watched kids who were less than five feet tall and covered with gold chains make deals with drivers at the corner. Average time to exchange a package for cash was less time than the stop light took. The dealers use minors as when they turn 18 their record vanishes. Also, there is no punishment for minors that will prevent them from bringing home more money than if they were an employed adult.

These aren’t rocket scientists. They probably, on average, have pretty low IQ’s. They believe that nothing will happen to them, and, for the most part, they are right.

And it is “foolishness” to not put people who tend to be inattentive on forklifts moving Construction materials around customers. Those idiot idiotic old meany insurance companies.

Only an elitist would make that connection, evidently.

It’s always the man, keeping the junkies down.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon bought Lowe’s.

They are itching to get into the home improvement sector. They’ve already entered into the home sales biz. This would be their natural next step.

I used to work at Lowes on weekends, and to be fair there were a lot of good, hard working, knowledgeable employees.
Then Corporate made the brilliant business decision to fire all of the department managers and Product Specialists, and replace them with part-time workers, paying them under 10 dollars an hour with no benefits.
A lot were OK, but as they had no one with experience to train them properly, they were unable to offer competent customer service and would usually quit out of frustration.
The ones that stayed were usually those who didn’t give a rip, and were just there to collect a paycheck.

Lowes ain’t long for this world.
