There was some professor, University of Michigan IIRC, who said that psych exams are needed, and wanting to own a gun in the first place is an indisputable sign of mental illness that should prevent someone from owning a gun.

The second amendment was designed to protect “We The People” from the government. Protect “We The People” with better laws against the corrupt deep sate government and then we can talk about the second amendment.
I would mostly agree with you....adding the the Stoneman Douglas School shooting. In that case, the twenty-odd visits by the police to the home...should have been flagged, and that kid by age 16 should have been taken to a full-up max security facility. The local cops had chances, and just kept saying....let’s see how far this kid can go.

Kushner is working on immigration reform and I’m betting it will include a continued invasion and amnesty. Why wouldn’t the Dems vote for it. None of these people are working for us.
Although I recoil at anything leading to gun restrictions, modernization of the background system is fine with me...on our terms. For example, this Dayton shooters ‘hit list’ should be part of the background check. It was expunged as juvenile record but should play into ability to buy a weapon a few years later. We have infinitely more data today that 25 years ago and more should go in to it. Especially for people under 25 where we are seeing this problem. Believe me I see the danger of opening Pandora’s box here, but much like immigration, we would benefit by modernizing the systems.
A New Yorker who’s a strong advocate for our 2nd amendment rights? I don’t know if there’s been one of them since 1776. This is what’s scared me about Trump all along. Let’s just hope it’s one of his negotiating tactics.
