Epstein and the Public Loss of Faith
American Thinker.com ^ | August 18, 2019 | Clarice Feldman

The death of Jeffrey Epstein in the MCC federal jail has touched off no end of speculation. While the medical examiner’s conclusion indicating it was suicide has been made public, the report itself has not been released. Many don’t believe it. In many ways Epstein’s death reminds me of Sherlock Holmes’s mystery “Adventure in a Sealed Room” where a trained monkey was the culprit after lots of clues were sifted through. An online friend “Rocco,” a prison guard, agrees with me. He’s seen too much of this himself and knows how quickly and easily prisoners have killed themselves in locked rooms even when -- as is not the case here -- guards were making their assigned rounds.

At heart I believe there was a great chance of a long, ugly trial during which Epstein would not be released out on bail and a lifetime sentence would follow. A lifetime in which he would be miserable and full of apprehension. He had flown close to the stars in years of great luxury and pleasure and that was all going to go away. Even if he beat the rap, his associates had finally pulled away from him, and there is no likelihood the glitterati would ever welcome him back or that the money he somehow amassed would continue to flow his way.

It’s true after SpyGate and its unraveling people have a heightened suspicion of law-enforcement institutions. Crime series on TV and movies have given viewers a distorted view, in my opinion, of how criminal law works and how quickly bad actors can be brought to justice. And then there is a lost prospect of a trial sure to appeal to prurient interests and the anticipation that whichever political figure you most hate will be exposed.

Perhaps had ANY of the FBI, IRS, DOJ criminals been put in prison or even indicted I may have continued trust in the Federal gub mint.
Perhaps ANY of those involved with and including the principles regarding the Clinton crime syndicate been charged and imprisoned I may have continued trust in the federal gub mint.
Waco, Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma City, the shoot down of the jet off Long Island, all point to the reasons I have NO TRUST in the federal gub mint.

Without equal justice under the law, a democracy withers and rots. We have witnessed a criminal attempt to rig a Presidential election and sabotage the administration of a duly elected President. Yet Comey, McCabe, Brennan, Lynch, Obama and Clapper remain free and grinning. Why would the Epstein affair be different. Don’t expect a prosecution or even a public humiliation for Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew and the rest. However if you vigorsly defend yourself , home or family from a criminal, prepare to go to jail.

It just may occur to some people that the reason #FusionCollusion plotters are “getting away with it” may be the SAME reason Epstein is dead now.

There is no Sherlock Holmes “Adventure in a Sealed Room.” If Feldman is going to make these things up, then at least she should take credit for them and not tag tired old Conan Doyle with her own brain farts.

Unless she means “The Sign or Four,” or some legitimate Holmes story, in which case she shouldn’t be so lazy as to make up a name of a fictitious, fictitious, story.

It undermines her point.

We live in interesting times (ancient Chinese curse).

But in a convoluted way, perhaps.

I think there’s more to the Epstein story than most people will honestly admit.

Perhaps something akin to deadly violence. Those girls were not children, but they were coming of age young adults.

I think the mores of this modern society as a society of access, and the indoctrination that those young adults received in public schools, and on the media, excetera... are all contributing factors.

It is truly a sad, sad commentary of our times.

If the USA intends to presume its role as the world leader...it needs to clean up its act. Needs to demonstrate to the world we can bring an Epstein to court and have them tried under the rule of law.

So far, while Trump has provided a fresh coat of paint to the
alphabet agencies, for all intent and purpose it appear to any objective outside observer, as though HRC and WJC are still running the DOJ/FBI...and perhaps even the Federal pen in downtown Manhattan.

Trump talks about issuing 50-100yr bonds. For that to work ya gotta demonstrate clean elections, fair courts, and overall a ISO 9000 level of accountability for Federal, State and Local government. Prove to the world that America is a “clean business”

That IS achievable if we set our minds and our will to it-and will cement America’s place in the world for the next 250 years.

whats happening right now is nothing but an appetizer for an eventual Venezuelan or Cuban type USA mess

The reference to a trained monkey makes me think that Ms. Feldman was referring to Poe’s story The Murders in the Rue Morgue. That was a locked-room mystery, though the killer was an ape, not a monkey.

I agree that it was extremely lazy of her not to check such a simple matter.

Exactly. There is NO equal justice under the law. It’s been totally destroyed by liberalism like everything else it touches.
What we now have is some weird two-tiered system: A draconian one for the “unwashed masses” (that’d be us) and a feather-lite one for our elite, ruling overlords and all their filthy ilk along with their “friends” such as juicy smollett. As it is now, there is absolutely no credibility left. It needs to change.

I believe nothing coming from government. From ‘ you can keep your doctor’ to ‘climate change is man made and an existential threat’ to ‘ no new taxes’ to ‘obamacare is a tax and thus Constitutional’ to ‘ the 2nd amendment is a government right while the rest of the bill of rights are individual rights’ and on and on. The lies never stop coming.

There were many examples during the Obama years, Lois Lerner and the IRS, Eric Holder’s F&F, Clinton and Benghazi, are just a few but the most memorable.

The eligible voters who choose not vote in presidential elections has dwarfed the turnout of either party for 100+ years. The people who care about politics and culture from both the right and left vastly overestimate the number of folks who care as much they do, at least enough to deign to vote about it. The 24 news cycle and social media probably have a lot to do with that overestimation.
