Will recommend an excellent well researched and much hated by Leftists, book. “White Cargo” the story of the original Slaves in ALL of the original colonies (be they Dutch,GB- Crown Colonies or Chartered, French, Spanish and.. Portugese. Indentured life contract servitude sentenced by Courts or contracts made with the victims who wanted to go to the New World. Way long before (over 60 years before ) the first African slave set foot in the future United States. Extends this research down to the Caribbean- to include Irish slaves forced by Lords Proprietors to work off their sentences by having them cut sugar cane in 120 degree tropical heat, where they died like flies- never able to work off their sentence or their servant contracts if in place.

The book also expounds the facts of the white slavery trade carried on in the Mediterranean by Arabs— human trafficking by kidnapping on the seas. Barbary pirates included and discussion of Thomas Jeffersons “annotated Quran” (they were HIS notes btw to STOP the Algiers sultans from demanding ransom for our sailors and our people— women especially). No matter what the moron Tlaid tries to foist on the US— taking her oath of office on Jefferson’s Quran (which he ONLY had to use to learn how to defeat criminal muslim slavers and thugs).

Inasmuch as Harris’s father confirms the family WERE slavers— big time— this is a legacy she tries to cover up, and which she SHARES with the great obamaumao his-self. Obamaumao’s ancestors were MUSLIM slave traders— there is NO doubt about this (through the supposed Kenyan “heritage” we had shoved down our disbelieving throats. Obamaumao’s people were SLAVERS... and he is muslim, proud of enslaving us further, us infidels.

Let her run on this— force her to answer for it. And her pot headed round heeled whoring background of complete disinformation. Then- we should begin with HER actual birth certificate-— for she is indeed NOT a natural born citizen— both parents were not native born Americans, nor were they even naturalized (at the minimum a kind of “standard”) at the time of her birth. She cannot ever be President. Period.

Keep talking, fellows!

The 2020 Presidential election will be between

1. President Trump, who loves the USA, believes in the American Dream, and wants to make America greater than ever before

and

2. Democrats, who HATE America, consider the USA an evil, racist, nazi nation that must be destroyed, and intend to DESTROY AMERICA!

Whom to you think the American People will elect President???

The US was a slave nation because of Massachusetts. They joined the six Southern states to vote for slavery because their bankers were making so much money off of the products slavery produced.
Just sayn . . .

“although Lincoln was not “fighting to free the slaves’, EVERYONE knows that is Exactly what the Civil War was about.”

The North’s invasion of the South was controversial at the time and remains so today.

Many people believe Lincoln “fought to free the slaves” and to overthrow the pro-slavery United States Constitution.

Maybe he did.

“Try reading about the Lincoln Douglas Debates, held even before Lincoln became president. Lincoln was an abolitionist far earlier and was an early member of the Republican Party which was founded on the premise of ending slavery and preventing its expansion into the territories.”

If I read the Lincoln-Douglas debate in context of the House Divided speech, will it support the notion that “Lincoln fought to free the slaves?”

Slavery was included in the United States Constitution because the original slave states voted to include it in the Constitution.

The original slave states were: New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia were also slave states. Don't ever forget to cast four-thirteenth responsibility in that direction.

Thanks! I stand corrected - did not know that.
Holier than thou is standing on quicksand, I think.
If only we really knew history . . .

Agreed.

President Lincoln’s external position was maybe subtly ambiguous:
“If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that.”

“Agreed (Many people believe Lincoln “fought to free the slaves” and to overthrow the pro-slavery United States Constitution.)”

If Lincoln actually did that it is a real problem. Because a U.S. president is not supposed to use the military to violently overthrow the United States Constitution.

The South had feared Lincoln would do just that if he was elected. A president is supposed to advocate peaceful changes to the Constitution when change is needed using the well-thought out amendment process.

The abolition of slavery for example could have been proposed and debated and voted on in 1861, or earlier, and all the killings and destruction avoided.

No member of Congress proposed an amendment to abolish slavery before the war - not even Lincoln when he served in Congress.

Read them. Don’t ask me to interpret them for you. Douglas was a Pro-Slavery Democrat while Lincoln was an anti-Slavery Republican. Both appeared in seven debates in seven different county venues hoping to convince the area voters to persuade their Illinois state senators to select one of them to be the new US Senator for Illinois for the next six years. The main topic of each debate was slavery. The verbatim texts of each debate were published in almost every newspaper in the country and were likely the major reason Lincoln was elected President.

The facts are that as a man of his time, Lincoln was not seeking social equality for the black people, but he was fighting to end chattel slavery as abhorrent to society and the concept of freedom as espoused in the Declaration of Independence, which the Democrats claimed, and apparently still do, was an "obvious lie."

oops, my bad. If the Federal government was indeed violating the Constitution maybe Ft. Sumter was actually correct.

Although an incomplete example of his true sentiment Lincoln’s statement “If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, ...” cannot be taken out of context.

however, just the election of President Lincoln could not arguably considered that violation of the Constitution.

The first slaves to the New World were white. A black man was the first one to own black slaves in North America.

Easy to do when they purposely do not teach American history they way it should be told. When the man on the street asks simple questions of young people and they haven’t a clue the left has done their job

I think the NY Times, media in general and the progressives as a whole are the ones who truly believe and follow the quote:

“America holds onto an undemocratic assumption from its founding: that some people deserve more power than others.”
