Trump’s Personal Assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, Steps Down
The New York Times ^ | 08/29/2019 | Annie Karni and Maggie Haberman

President Trump’s personal assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, whose office sits in front of the Oval Office and who has served as the president’s gatekeeper since Day 1 of his administration, resigned on Thursday, two people familiar with her exit said.

Ms. Westerhout’s abrupt and unexpected departure came after Mr. Trump learned on Thursday that she had indiscreetly shared details about his family and the Oval Office operations she was part of at a recent off-the-record dinner with reporters staying at hotels near Bedminster, N.J., during the president’s working vacation, according to one of the people, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss White House personnel issues...

Ms. Westerhout, a former Republican National Committee aide who also worked for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, reportedly cried on election night because she was upset over Mr. Trump’s victory. As such, the president at first viewed her warily, as a late convert to his cause who could not be trusted.

She may have been untrustworthy, but she is most definitely not guilty.

Consider the source. The underlying fact is one thing. The attendant details are another. I would never trust the NYT for a wholly truthful article of any kind. That said, there is a price to pay for hobnobbing with presstitutes. Glad she’s outta there.

She was a former RNC aide, and Reince Priebus was the Chief of Staff. I’m sure that comes with a lot of authority over hiring decisions for positions like this.

Trump simply did not expect to win, had no nucleus of qualified people to staff critical offices, made disastrous appointments with Sessions, Mattis and others, and never really learned how to use the levers of power. The fact that Comey, McCabe, Brennan, Lynch and Clapper remain free and grinning says it all. Its painful to say this.

I agree. He could ask for Ivanka to draw up a list of past and present suspected leakers, betrayers and enemies around him. And one of close associates. Same people on both lists except for his family. Just about. Omarosa,Scaramucci, Sessions....

People were under a lot of pressure from the Deep State not to work for the Trump Administration.
