Felicity Huffman tells judge she wanted her daughter to 'have a FAIR SHOT' at college acceptance,..

as prosecutors call for actress to spend just ONE MONTH in jail after she pleaded guilty in admissions scandal

Felicity Huffman has been recommended to spend just one month in jail in connection to the college admissions scandal where she pleaded guilty in April to mail fraud and honest services fraud.

The actress wrote in a letter delivered to a Boston judge on Friday that believed she was giving her daughter with a learning disability a 'fair shot' by paying $15,000 for a SAT test to be corrected to help Sophia gain entry to the University of Southern California.

After prosecutors originally called for Huffman to spend between four and 10 months locked up, the recommendation filed Friday by the U.S. Attorney's office asked for her to be jailed for 30 days.

Following her time inside, Huffman, 56, will be on supervised released for a year if prosecutors - who described her acts as 'deliberate and manifestly criminal' - get their way.

'In the context of this case, neither probation nor home confinement (in a large home in the Hollywood Hills with an infinity pool) would constitute meaningful punishment or deter others from committing similar crimes,' prosecutors wrote to the judge about Huffman, who is married to 69-year-old Shameless star William H. Macy.

Felicity is mother to daughters Sophia, 19, and Georgia, 17, and admitted to paying for a proctor to correct wrong answers on Sophia's exams.

Huffman routed her payment though admissions official Singer via his nonprofit Key Worldwide Foundation; prosecutors said the aforementioned foundation was set up as a front to accept payoffs.

Prosecutors added: 'Her efforts weren't driven by need or desperation, but by a sense of entitlement, or at least moral cluelessness, facilitated by wealth and insularity'.

When we were looking for scholorships for our white kids who graduated in the top of their HS and tops in state UIL, it was a total joke. If they were dumb and minority, especially illegal, they’d get a free ride. Proof from daughter’s illegal roommate, free 4 year ride.

Not white priviledge.

For the first time I saw “learning disability” introduced.

That means she knew her kid was actually defective and not fit intellectually to go to college. Being a mother, she was duty bound to hoax the college to insure her defective kid was admitted.

One semester and then flunk out happens

The whole college admission system is rigged. Whites get discriminated against in the admission process and Asians even more so. Ivy League colleges are corrupt Leftist re-education facilities where reason is discarded and traditional moral beliefs that took centuries to attain are eschewed.

What she did was wrong and it does matter but it’s the harm to society that concerns me more than the potential loss to the college’s brand.

I'm not sure that what she did here should even be characterized as "wrong" in any sort of legal context. Consider this:

1. She paid a lot of money to bribe college admissions officials to get her child into a school. Rich donors engage in different forms of "back-door bribery" to get their unqualified children into schools all the time -- by making large donations to the endowments of these schools.

2. She paid someone to rig her child's SAT scores. Colleges have already rigged their admissions processes to admit unqualified minorities all the time -- so clearly the SAT scores aren't relevant to the process for EVERYONE.

3. Her child allegedly wouldn't have qualified for admission to the college without these "illegal" actions by the mother. And yet the child was still in school a couple of years later -- which meant she was obviously capable of meeting the school's academic standards for a student.

Like I said ... I don't think this woman committed a crime at all. Her only "crime" was that she exposed the entire college admissions process as a farce.

The kids were doing alright, the youngest one is an instagram influenceer and was making about 30k/month before her mom’s stupidity wrecked it for her. She didn’t even want to go to USC

The only way college acceptances could be fair is if they’re not attached to the student’s name, address, ability to pay (or contribute) or schools attended. I’d be all for that.

In my past, I did SAT Prep in some places where there were a lot of children of privilege. It’s just like other any other background. There are parents who insist that children do their best and earn what they get. There are others who are looking to suck up special favors. I wouldn’t assume that a child wouldn’t excel if it were expected of him/her.

What an a-hole. “Fair” to cheat because your kid (allegedly) has special needs?

She’s a millionaire x mucho, your daughter. College is for non-millionaires to get ahead and be able to support themselves with a position or career. Your daughter never “needed” college. If she could get in, she would, so let that be.

It’s all about HOW YOU LOOK. That was the only reason you wanted her in. How many other wheels have you “greased” for “fairness?” Wow, Hollywood loves itself so much, one day you guys will have sex organs on each sides of your body like worms. So you can all just ^%&$ yourselves.

“Huffman routed her payment though admissions official Singer via his nonprofit Key Worldwide Foundation; prosecutors said the aforementioned foundation was set up as a front to accept payoffs. “

So..... has Singer also been arrested and charged ? If not, then I guess it’s legal to set up foundations as a front for bribes. Like the Clintons have done and are still doing.

Key words Learning disability. With all her $$ why not get private help for your "disabled" kid instead of buying their way into a college they couldn't handle?

With light punishment, many more parents will take the chance of not getting caught any pay to get their child into school of their choice.

Light? For most of us, a month in jail would cost us our jobs. Following this, we'd drain our savings accounts and lose our homes and our cars. A month in jail would ruin most Americans.

Yes, but I imagine that causes some shortages in seats for American students and no doubt contributes to said Colleges attitudes to American values. If one is pandering to Chinese nationals, are Professors likely to extoll, say, the First Amendment?

Depends on the disability. Maybe the daughter likes the gym classes but little else. She wouldn't be the first young person who tried to avoid homework, studying, and tests.

A college is a business. Whether they cater to American or foreign students should be of no consequence. We have top medical facilities in this country that cater to wealthy foreigners. That shouldn't matter at all.

If one is pandering to Chinese nationals, are Professors likely to extoll, say, the First Amendment?

If one is pandering to Chinese nationals, I would be surprised if most of the students even understand the instructors at all.

There were laws. Not many laws, mind, but still laws and she broke them. Since her defense was that her daughter had a learning disability, it makes even less sense to break the law since the system is heavily tilted in her favor to begin with. Learning disabled students are allowed to do things, like take untimed tests at a time of their choosing instead of in 50 minutes with the rest of the class for example. Also there are a buttload of tutoring opportunities available to say nothing of private assistance her mom could legally line up. Then there is the grade socialism that results from good students being assigned charge of crappy students for group projects for which the entire group receives the same grade. Typically these projects weigh heavily as a percentage of the final grade. Staying in, if you have the money, is a piece of cake. The problem is getting in.
