IMNSHO, the ONLY legacy Kaine should be saddled with is he was picked to be VP in a 100% lock, shoo-in race and he did not even have the grace to resign his Senate seat.
No matter what one may think of Bob Dole, he had the manners to resign his Senate seat while running for Pres.
