Gun Registration is Gun Confiscation - Updated 2019 Edition

The holy grail of those who wish us disarmed is gun registration. Once your guns are required to be registered, they are, in effect, already confiscated. A little thought will reveal to you why this is so.

The Government will know who has legal possession of each firearm. They will know where the firearm is stored. When physical possession of the gun is desired, they can order you to turn it in. This has happened repeatedly.

The historical examples include NAZI Germany, Soviet Russia, Red China, and Cambodia. Recent examples include Kosovo, Great Britain, Australia, New York, and California. Not having possession of the firearm registered to you can be grounds for prosecution. If you have reported the gun stolen, and it is found in your possession, you can be charged with obstruction of justice, filing a false report, or perhaps a newly created crime for “gun criminals.”

Once all guns are required to be registered, the only people who will legally possess guns will be those who have registered them, a truism, but necessary to state the case clearly.

If you choose to follow the course of civil disobedience, and not register your firearms, mere possession of an unregistered gun will put you at grave legal risk. Civil disobedience has been the most common course of action in California and Canada, in Maryland and Connecticut, where it has proven impossible to enforce the laws requiring registration.

Gun registration is gun confiscation. Most gun confiscation does not occur in nationwide police raids all of a sudden; it occurs little by little, as people are forced to give up their rights incrementally, over time.

Good commentary. Thank you!

Perhaps our most important political battle is and always will be preserving our individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms. Even protecting our border gains added importance because maintaining the American gun culture becomes harder if millions of non-Americans are going to vote.

UBC’s are the 1st steps to registration (like CA), followed by incremental confiscations or gun prohibitions.

Good commentary. No argument here.

I think in this case, “civil disobedience” would not involve signs and marches like they think, but lamp posts and piano wire. Anyone thinks we will sit back and tsk-tsk over this is loony.

The police may have to decide whose side they are on.

The majority of the police will be on the side of the entity which signs their paychecks.

Well said, but it’s worse than that. Gun registration in effect creates a list of armed citizens. The end goal is not the government coming for the guns, but rather those freedom loving citizens themselves.

Don’t kid yourself that a “boating accident” is going to get you out of this.

I prefer to see THOSE WHO GIVE THE ORDERS have unfortunate "accidents", or just disappear.

Actually, the holy grail of those who wish us disarmed is most of us dead, the rest in chains.

Gun registration/confiscation will be carried out against the law abiding. Gang bangers and MS-13 types won’t comply. Then when seconds count, the police are only minutes away and we will be left to die at the hands of the very people that the Govt. won’t disarm.

nice.

I hope freedom’s enemies have considered the possibility that their grab for absolute power over ordinary people may not go according to plan.

Gentlemen, the 2 ideas are connected, and not by accident. You remember Obama’s civilian “national security force?” Well, that’s who Antifa and the gangs are. Once guns have been registered, those in charge behind the scenes will have the lists of gun owners, will remove their supporters from that list, and will send gangs to “take care of” those opponents who present the biggest threat, and then move on down the list. Each incident where guns are used (which is to say, most of them) to massacre a family will be used as a further excuse to enforce existing laws and to push for a full-on confiscation. Of course, as time goes on, their opposition’s numbers (us) will be declining. That is their plan, and it has been used elsewhere.

Remember, the Left wants power - the more the better - and it wants it soon - the sooner the better. That’s why they’ve gone off of their collective rocker with the election of Trump, because it put their plans back by at least 10 years, and possibly a lot longer with permanent immigration changes, remaking the judiciary and reawakening the American spirit. But make no mistake, they ARE willing to kill large numbers of people to achieve their goals - their only morality is what serves them is good, and what stands in the way is bad.

Yup....and then we will all see the consequences resulting from decades of the "us against them" mentality that permeates LE.

when “THEY” kick in your door at 3 am and immediately shoot your beloved dog, ya’ll be on your knees n hands in air begging “Don’t shoot me”. Roll over Rover.

“They” will get away with that a few times, but in relatively short order the nocturnal visitors will start to encounter unexpected scenarios, and their enthusiasm for their task will diminish rapidly.

Nope. I’m old. I’ve lived a good, long life. I’ve got cancer. I don’t care anymore. Kick down my door at 3 AM and I WILL shoot you. Of this, be certain: One or more of you WILL NOT be going home that night. What happens to me is irrelevant.

Remember Dan Lungren (R), the California AG under Gov. Pete Wilson (R)? Lungren pushed for California registration of the SKS, a Chinese version of the AR simi auto rife. Lungren swore that confiscation was not his goal of his registration requirement for that particular firearm. Mandated registration was passed in the State House and approximately two years later that firearm was banned in California and Lungren called for ALL SKS fireams be turned in or they will be confiscated by law enforcement. Lungren fell on his sword for his globalist overlords and It ended up costing him his career in politics, thus leaving as a liar and a political thug.
