It’s not gun violence. It’s people violence. Murder is already illegal. Why would making gun ownership illegal change anything? It would make more sense to outlaw democrats than anything else.
There’s a law that I love. It’s an ancient one that is forbidden to be taught in our schools anymore. Goes something like, “THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT MURDER!”
Some of those who want to outlaw firearms for people perceived as having less class fail to realize that families of several of the mass murderers were not poor. Some of those families were able to bring enough money to attorneys to hide or do away with negative personal histories.

I choose liberty over any lunatic scheme.
Start prosecuting murderers in a timely fashion and execute those found guilty instead of keeping them in prison or letting them out with a slap on the wrist.
Those caught in the act aren’t “alleged killers” - they are killers and do not deserve to be treated with kid gloves.

I watched their meeting. It was very civil. I think they were surprised to learn that Cruz had tried to get some legislation through to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and mentally ill, by enforcing agencies to report them and punishing those that lie on the application. Basically what’s already supposed to happen but isn’t enforced.
That’s the thing, the Democrats don’t want to enforce what’s already there, they want to criminalize legal gun industry and owners.

The 2A is the Supreme LAW of the Land. Anybody who loves the law abides by the Constitution. Cruz loves the Constitution and the law that flows from it.
If Libs want to outlaw guns, all they have to do is pass a Constitutional amendment revoking 2A. That is the lawful way to do it. It’s as simple as that.
