IF you can handle one COMPETENTLY, a 10-gauge loaded with MAX loads of 0 or #1 buckshot is TOUGH TO BEAT at ranges out to 50-60M as a PREDATOR-KILLER, whether the quarry is 2-footed or 4-footed.
(I once knew a well-known PH, who was famous in sub-Saharan Africa in the 1950-80 era, who said that, “No firearm is more effective at ‘turning’ a wounded/charging Cape Buffalo than a 10-bore shotgun, loaded with heavy shot, is.”)
